THE THEORY OF

LIFE AFTER
DEATH
Presented by Harry Tregale, Harvey Parslow, Paige McCreadie and
India Knight
Our idea
We are making a documentary on the theory of life after death.
We want to explore different people's experiences and how they
have impacted their beliefs. In our documentary we want to
explore multiple points of view on whether the afterlife exists to
all the audience to make their own conclusion on what happens
next.
This documentary will include a wide range of interviews from
people with different perspectives such as scientific and
biological point of view and a spiritual point of view. Our main
goal for this documentary is to spark conversations and ideas
about what happens next. We would want more people to engage
in conversations about this topic and we hope our documentary
fuels that
Interviews
Our project will feature four different
interviews.

Three of which will share personal

experiences.

Two of these will give evidence of an

afterlife

Two of these will try and prove the

afterlife nonexistent

Interview 1
• The first interview follows the
story of a toddler who
remembered her past life

• Her family members tell the

story
• She claimed that she
remembers being killed by a
horse and carriage
• She said things like "I miss my
old mummy, but I like my new
mummy"
• She began hysterically crying
when she saw a statue on the
news which was where she
"died" and then went on to say
it wasn’t where it was before.
• When her mother looked it up,
she found the statue was
moved years and years ago,
something the child couldn’t
have known.

• This is just a brief overview; the

story will be told in more detail
in the interview

Neuroscientist who works on the brain
and DNA.
• Some questions will include, 'what
happens to the brain after death?'
• A look into the scientific and biological
aspect of death and possibility of after-
life.
• A look into the everyday work around
brain science and if anything specific
happens whilst dying for example,
• What happens to the brain cells after
death, how long do they last?
Interview with a person who
had a near death experience
• This interview will be with this man shown on the
left called Steven Metcalf as he had a near death
experience and is now bound to a wheelchair.

• His near-death experience happened with a horrific

car accident that left him in traction(a frame being
screwed to your head after breaking your neck. for 3
months

Richard Hammond is best known for co-
hosting the program Top Gear from 2002
until 2015 with Jeremy Clarkson and
James May. Richard Hammond is The
Top Gear legend shows us where his
head went when he almost died. When
Richard Hammond crashed a car in
2006, it took a lot away from him. He
lost two weeks to a coma, and he lost
basic functions due to the brain damage.
Eventually, he got them back. But
during this he had a spiritual near-

• Our Aim and purpose for this
documentary is too:

• Provide 2 viewpoints on whether the

afterlife exists or not
• Leave the question open if the afterlife
exists for the audience to discuss
between themselves
Research
The documentary "Surviving Death" has
inspired us greatly

• Talks about Near Death Experiences

• Talks about Past Life Experiences

Have spoken to a documentary producer on how

to make our documentary more interesting as
watching a bunch of interviews is boring

• Spoke about different kinds of imagery

- Illustrative and metaphorical

- B Roll
Style
• The Main style for this documentary is gaping to be
participatory as we will be having a presenter in our
documentary.
• Participatory documentary are when the filmmaker
has an interaction with their subject which is
exactly what we are going for. An Example of a
documentary filmmaker would be Michael Moore
Target Audience and Unique selling
point
• Our target audience for this • Our unique selling point would be our
documentary is 12A+ due to the interviews lined up. We have luckily
distressing topics we cover some contacted some great examples such
children under the age might find it as a neuroscientist and people who
upsetting and might not be able to remember their past life and near
grasp the importance of the death, these are our biggest aspects
seriousness of death. due to the rarity of having these
circumstances most everyday people
might not have ever spoke or known
to anyone who has these experiences.
Codes and Conventions
• Some codes and conventions we will use in our
documentary include;

• Voice overs

• Presenter

• Archive footage ( Richard Hammond Interview )

• Illustrative imagery ( instead of re-enactments for dramatic

purposes e.g A bright light when talking about Near death )

• In person and online interviews
