Course Description
In this course, students will improve their English language skills in reading, listening, speaking,
and writing. By exploring college life and their own experiences, they will learn essential
vocabulary and grammar, enabling them to communicate confidently in basic English
conversations.
Learning Methodology
To enhance students' English proficiency, the course employs task-based learning and skill-
based assignments. The topics revolve around their immediate context, focusing on college life
and personal experiences. Throughout the course, students are motivated to actively engage in
producing both oral and written texts that demonstrate their language skills, vocabulary
command, and grammar competence.
Learning Outcomes
After intensive practice of English language skills and guided discussion on the context of
college life, each student is expected to be able to write a 4-paragraph describing their dreams,
challenges and solutions by applying their English skills, integrating their understanding of
English language features, and practicing their idea development skills.

Grading:
Important Information:
1. Mahasiswa wajib mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran ICE dan menyiapkan perangkat yang
diperlukan seperti laptop/tablet/hp serta memastikan kuota dan sinyal yang baik untuk
mendukung kelancaran proses pembelajaran dan mengakses materi.
2. Untuk semester Gasal 2023/2024, UKDW meningkatkan fitur sistem eclass.ukdw.ac.id
tentang peraturan presensi kehadiran mahasiswa minuman 75% (11 pertemuan tidak
termasuk UTS dan UAS) untuk dapat mengikuti UAS dan akan diberlakukan dengan
bantuan sistem. Fitur pada eclass.ukdw.ac.id akan mendeteksi presentase kehadiran
mahasiswa dan fitur input nilai UAS akan menjadi disable untuk mahasiswa yang
kehadirannya kurang dari 75%. Sosialisasi akan dilakukan untuk fitur baru yang
ditambahkan pada sistem eclass.
3. Tidak diadakan tugas, kuis, dan tes susulan (kecuali dengan alasan yang jelas disertai
surat pendukung yang valid, misalnya surat dokter).
4. Segala bentuk kecurangan atau yang dicurigai merupakan kecurangan dalam tugas, kuis,
dan tes akan berakibat pada penalti menjadi nilai 0 (straight zero).
5. Mahasiswa dianjurkan untuk mencermati komponen penilaian dan
mengumpulkan/melaksanakan semua tugas/project agar mendapatkan nilai maksimal.
6. Mahasiswa wajib update dengan E-Class, keterlambatan dalam mendapat informasi
yang disebabkan karena kurang update dengan eclass adalah tanggung jawab yang
bersangkutan sepenuhnya.
