Tutorial_4 Presentation Group 2

Guidelines

There will be a maximum of 3 students per presentation group in each tutorial


session.

The powerpoint presentation for all groups must be sent to the relevant teaching
assistant and copied to the lecturer by 1630 on the day BEFORE the presentation.
No extensions shall be granted and no changes shall be made to your slides
after this time.

The delivered presentation must not exceed 25 minutes.

Your presentation should be guided, but not limited to the questions below.

You will be assessed on the quality of your presentation slides, the quality of your
presentation skills and your ability to answer questions from your peers or teaching
assistants. The maximum mark achievable is 30.

Enzymes

Enzymes can fall into 6 general types; Oxidoreductases, Transferases, Hydrolases,


Lyases, Isomerases, Ligases

Outline the chemical reactions that are catalysed by each type of enzyme.

Give examples of enzymes that fall into each type.

What type of enzyme is Ribonuclease? How does it function?

Discuss a real life industrial application of the use of an enzyme. Include the
chemistry involved.
