ANALYSIS (Page 11)

Answer the following Questions:

 How were you able to derive ideas that your strand may be describe like that?
 We are able to derive ideas based on our previous knowledge about the strand
we are taking.
 Where did you get your ideas?
 We get our ideas from our own experiences and prior knowledge.

 Was It easy to have a common idea or did you even argue while writing it down?
 It was easy to have a common idea.
 What was the first step you did before you start?
 Before we start, we did brainstorming.

 What was the last step you did before you agree on it?
 Citation of opinions was the last step we did before we agree on the idea.

APPLICATION (Page 25)

Answer the following Questions:

 What are the perceptions of the students about remote learning?

 For us, it is difficult to cope up with this situation and we are also facing many
distractions while studying due to the reason that we are not in the right
learning environment.

 What have the students learned from their experiences in distance learning?
 We learned to be patient and to manage our time even if we have so much
things to do.

 How can we prevent problems in distance learning in the future?

 We can prevent the future problems in distance learning by improving the things
we lack on. For example, improving the time management and also the
communication between the teachers and the learners.
PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1

LESSON 1B

LET US TRY TO ASK OURSELVES (Page 3)

 Why do Germany and Japan tries to continuously develop things which are already
existing and are being used?
 Germany and Japan tries to continuously develop things because they want to
innovate to meet the needs of the people and to make our lives easier.

 What do you think is the best answer for the question?

 The best answer for this question is the purpose of innovation.

LET US SEE IF IT’S TRUE… (Page 4)

 If a phone already exist, will they make another one?

 Yes, because the needs of the people when it comes to technology are
increasing, so they need to innovate and improve phone models.

 What feature that the latest model phones have that the first phones don’t have?
 The phones we have right now are basically portable computers. Phones back
then can only make texts and calls, but now, phones can be used as cameras for
digital arts, calculators, has internet connectivity, and a lot more features.

ACTIVITY 1 (Page 6)

 Group yourselves
 Get a piece of paper
 Using the lamp as the core object, try to make an innovation, make a new one
 You may let anybody from the group do the drawing
 The leader will then interpret the output

SMART LAMP (GROUP 3)

ANALYSIS (Page 7)

 What innovations have you made?

 We turned the lamp into a smart lamp which has internet connectivity and
artificial intelligence.

 Why? What is your specific reason?

 Instead of buying alarm clocks and lamps, we can use this smart lamp to set
alarms and reminders since it can be connected to the internet. It can also be
used in listening music and podcast.

 What is the general purpose of your innovation?

 The general purpose of this innovation is to make our lives easier.

 What is your basis to make the innovation?

 The basis for making this innovation came from our personal needs and
experiences.

APPLICATION 1 (Page 21)

 Using the same group, try to discuss with members and make a simple statement about:
There no longer exists a rigid separation between basic and applied research and
it is no longer possible to make a clear distinction between research topics and fields.
 Give an example research concept that carries this idea

One example of research concept that carries this idea is the COVID-19 pandemic. We use
basic research in order for us to gather new information about this new type of virus and at
the same time, we use applied research in order for us to produce vaccines to solve this
pandemic.

APPLICATION 2 (Page 22)

 Write your concept using a graphical presentation (Semantic Map)

 Through the concept map, identify your research agenda
 Post your concept on the page

PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1

LESSON 2A

ACTIVITY 1 (Page 6)

 Using a Semantic Graph, express your ideas about “good person”… write down as many
characteristics as you can
 The leader with the team will discuss the output…ask why you have chosen the
characteristics and what influenced you to write it

Generous
Obedient Kind

Courteous Trustworthy
Perspectives
regarding the
concept of
Friendly being a good Considerate
person

Respectful Helpful

Honest Empathetic

Those written characteristics on the Semantic Graph are influenced by our experiences
and observations in our surroundings.

ANALYSIS (Page 8)

 Why do you need to set standards like characteristics?

 We need to set standards like characteristics because it can help us improve
things. It is also important for basis of mutual understanding between the
people.

 What will a characteristic contribute to an idea?

 Characteristics will help us differentiate ideas and know its uniqueness. It will
also help us form ideas.

 Is it necessary to follow standards?

 Yes, because it is our basis in forming ideas.

APPLICATION (Page 36)

 Using the same group, get a piece of paper

 This time, let’s use the recent pandemic that happened

Answer the following questions:

 How can the pandemic be stopped or resolved?

 The pandemic can be stopped by strictly following the safety and health
protocols of the authorities.

 What have we learned from the pandemic?

 We have learned to be patient and be obedient to the rules imposed by the
government.

 How can we prevent such concern in the future?

 We can prevent such concern in the future by always practicing personal
hygiene, staying fit and healthy, and by following protocols such as wearing a
face mask and observing social distancing.
PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1

LESSON 2B

ANALYSIS (Page 4)

Answer the following Questions:

 Why do you need to know the inherent attributes of a thing?

 We need to know the inherent attributes of a thing to figure out its nature and
where it came from.

 What will these inherent attributes contribute to an idea?

 Once we know the inherent attributes, it will be easier for us to form a concrete
idea about a certain topic.

 How can these attributes be contributory to your general concept?

 These attributes will help us in forming concrete ideas that will help us to create
a general concept about a specific topic.

APPLICATION (Page 28)

 Using the same group, get one sheet of paper

 Let us try to make verifying questions to check if a research carries the attributes
required for a research
 Write your questions on the paper

Verifying Questions:

 Is it feasible?
 Is it ethical?
 Is it systematic?
 Does it violate any moral values?
 What can it contribute to the society?
PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1

LESSON 2C

ANALYSIS (Page 11)

Answer the following questions:

 Do you think Niknok did a good job?

 No.

 It might be yes and it might be no? Why?

 No, because Niknok did not consider the situation of the spider.

 If it’s a no, where did it go wrong?

 It went wrong on his process of gathering information that leads to his
inaccurate conclusion.

 If you are Niknok, what will you do?

 If I were Niknok, I will make a systematic plan before I proceed on the research
process.

APPLICATION (Page 31)

 Using the same group, get one sheet of paper

 This time, let’s use your idea… select an agenda and a topic.

Agenda: Fight the spread of Covid-19

Topic: Strictly follow the safety protocols

 Always wear face mask in public.

 Stay at home as much as possible.
 Wear face shield while in public.
 When in public, stay away from places with crowded people.
