Best regards, Dear Tutor

I appreciate your valuable collaboration in being able to participate in

this course, which is important to improve my knowledge.

I am Ramiro Alfonso Zarabanda, a resident of the municipality of

Chaparral Tolima, with 43 years of age I worked in the public sector

for a period of 20 years of service to MINDEFENSA. I am currently a

Technologist in planning for environmental control. In the

environmental part I have very little experience, only when I belonged

for a period of 2 years in an environmental and ecological police

group, my work was especially security and accompaniment to control

and administrative entities at an environmental level

Climate change

1. Answer the questions in English about climate change

“Climate Change Explained”

2. Answering the questions in English about climate change Watch the

following video about “Climate Change Explained”: TDC. (2015, 02 de

diciembre). Climate Change Explained Simply [video]. Ejoy.

https://ejoy- english.com/go/video/climate-change-explained/8801

2.1 Regarding the video: ¿How many Fahrenheit degrees the

average 1 2 temperature on the surface of the planet has
increased since 1880?

Rta. The average temperature on the planet's surface has already

increased by 1.7 degrees

2.2 Regarding the video: How could be the worst scenario of climate
change? Regarding the video: ¿what are the individual solutions to
tackle climate change?

Rta. Countries and entire nations will be affected by climate change,

these generate sudden cold and heat activities, with droughts and

blizzard storms that deteriorate the infrastructure and the economy in

the countries, generating shortages of natural resources and lack of

food.

The best case scenario is that we get our act together and start, rapidly

reduce emission levels; Meanwhile, the Earth turns out to be less

sensitive to the greenhouse effect.

gases than we currently believe, plants and animals adapt quickly, and

major technologies

2.3 Regarding the video: ¿what are the individual solutions to face
climate change?

As more resources are devoted to solving the problem, our chances of

making technological breakthroughs are improving, but we should still

spend about three times as much money as we do today on these

efforts. You can reduce your carbon footprint by doing things like

plugging leaks in your home's insulation, installing a smart thermostat,

and taking public action. Transit, take fewer plane trips, buy an electric

car and put up solar panels. One of the most important is to eat less

meat. and raise your voice in protest against the generation of

pollutants that affect our natural resources.

3.Problem air pollution

Answering the questions in English about air pollution Watch the following
video about “Air Pollution Causes, Effects & Solution”

3.1 Regarding the video: ¿what are the causes of air pollution?
Rta. Thermal or radioactive and chemical power plants, forest fires, volcanic
eruptions, open burning, emissions from mobile sources, desertification of
land.

3.2 Regarding the video: what are the effects of air pollution?
Rta. effects of air pollution on humans: Dizziness, nasal irritation, lung
diseases.head and body pain

The effects of air pollution on the environment and the planet: Acid

rain, animal diseases, different behaviors, greenhouse effect, ozone layer

affectation, global warming.

3.3 Regarding the video: ¿what are the solutions to tackle air
pollution?

Rta. Plant trees, contribute to recycling, use alternative means of

transportation, implementation of clean technologies. Reject products

derived from plastic, domestic chemical materials without manufacturing

control.

4. Answering the questions in English about the connection

between air quality and climate change Watch the following
video about connections between air quality and climate change:

World Meteorological Organization (2021, 03 de septiembre).

a. How does air pollution impact the climate change?

Hint: Answering regarding the tropospheric ozone and aerosols impacts

b. How does climate change impact the air quality?

Rta. The relationship of its atmospheric layers that protect the globe are

seriously affected by air pollution that is being destroyed every day.

Aerosols are one of the direct causes, they contain greenhouse gases that
deteriorate permanently; Tropospheric ozone is emitted by diesel vehicular

mobile sources under the combination of other deadly gases such as

methane, carbon dioxide directly affects food crops, generating changes in

their temperatures and production cycles.
