CREATIVE ARTS
1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this paperwork is to get approval and consideration to organise an event

among the participants from the pusat pemulihan dalam komuniti Seri Sentosa. This event

will include some games and dance sections for them. We believe that our event would be a

great addition to the community and look forward to providing a fun, educational experience.

2.0 INTRODUCTION

Recognition will be done to fulfil the assessment criteria for a university course called

Social Engagement. This course exposes students to community service and volunteerism.

Students are required to plan and carry out an engagement program to the targeted

community. Thus, Recognition is chosen as the program to complete the assessment

requirements for this course.

Persons with disabilities face stigma and discrimination due to their differences. The

prejudice and stereotypes experienced by them is a result of a lack of understanding and

knowledge of the issues that cause disabilities. Recognition is a project focusing on bridging

the social gap between persons with disabilities and the community. We aim to raise

awareness on the social barriers faced by persons with disabilities to communicate with the

rest of the world.

The program consists of fun and engaging activities like games and dance,

specifically Daling-Daling which is a famous folk dance from Sabah.

3.0 GOALS

Below are the goals that we aim to achieve from this project:-

1. To make dance accessible for all bodies.

2. To increase representation of disabled dancers.

3. To lift up their moods and increase their happiness during the event.

4.0 OBJECTIVES

I. To bring happiness and joy in their lives.

II. To establish a close relationship between our community and disabled people.

III. To cultivate the interest of dance among disabled people.

5.0 THEME

Our project title is RECOG.nition. This project is to acknowledge the existence of

disabled people because they are still one of us in the universe. Besides, it also brings the

meaning of the rehabilitation centre of greatness in towards inspiring obedience to new
