CP-189
Sections 7.4.2
▪ Certifications which have expired or have been revoked may only be
reinstated by complying with Section 6, 7.4.3, or 8.1.
▪ Reinstatement per 7.4.3 is only allowed when the employee’s
certification expired due to termination of employment.
▪ Such reinstatement of certification shall only be for the period of time
remaining on the original certification.

Examination Results

▪ If not all required examinations were passed, candidate will be
notified of results and may reapply to retake the failed exam(s).

▪ Employers wishing to use ASNT as a third-party exam source to add

▪ Comprises General, Specific, Practical, and Instruction Preparation
examinations in five NDT methods (MT, PT, RT, UT, and VT).
• The Practical exam requires inspecting test pieces with known discontinuities,
as well as locating, evaluating, and dispositioning indications.
• Certification may be in one or all techniques within the applicable test
method and in the General Industry and/or Pressure Equipment Industry
sectors.
