If a particle moves from point 𝑃(2,3,5) to point 𝑄(3,4,5) . Its
displacement vector be

1 𝑖ƶ + 𝑗ƶ + 10𝑘ƶ

2 𝑖ƶ + 𝑗ƶ + 5𝑘ƶ

3 𝑖ƶ + 𝑗ƶ

4 2𝑖ƶ + 4𝑗ƶ + 6𝑘ƶ

𝐴Ԧ = 2𝑖ƶ + 𝑗,ƶ 𝐵 = 3𝑗ƶ − 𝑘ƶ and 𝐶Ԧ = 6𝑖 − 2𝑘.
ƶ Value of 𝐴Ԧ − 2𝐵 + 3𝐶Ԧ would be

1 20𝑖ƶ + 5𝑗ƶ + 4𝑘ƶ

2 20𝑖ƶ − 5𝑗ƶ − 4𝑘ƶ

3 4𝑖ƶ + 5𝑗ƶ + 20𝑘ƶ

4 5𝑖ƶ + 4𝑗ƶ + 10𝑘ƶ

Two force 𝐹1 = 1 N and 𝐹2 = 2 N act along the lines 𝑥 = 0 and 𝑦 = 0
respectively. Then the resultant of forces would be

1 𝑖ƶ + 2𝑗ƶ

2 𝑖ƶ + 𝑗ƶ

3 3𝑖ƶ + 3𝑗ƶ

4 2𝑖ƶ + 𝑗ƶ
Following forces starts acting on a particle at rest at the origin of the
co-ordinate system simultaneously
𝐹Ԧ1 = −4𝑖ƶ − 5𝑗ƶ + 5𝑘,ƶ 𝐹Ԧ2 = 5𝑖ƶ + 8𝑗ƶ + 6𝑘ƶ , 𝐹Ԧ3 = −3𝑖ƶ + 4𝑗ƶ − 7𝑘ƶ and
𝐹Ԧ4 = 2𝑖ƶ − 3𝑗ƶ − 2𝑘ƶ then the particle will move

1 In 𝑥 − 𝑦 plane

2 In 𝑦 − 𝑧 plane

3 In 𝑥 − 𝑧 plane

4 Along 𝑥−axis
A body is at rest under the action of three forces, two of which are
𝐹Ԧ1 = 4𝑖ƶ, 𝐹Ԧ2 = 6𝑗,ƶ the third force is

1 4𝑖ƶ + 6𝑗ƶ

2 4𝑖ƶ − 6𝑗ƶ

3 −4𝑖ƶ + 6𝑗ƶ

4 −4𝑖ƶ − 6𝑗ƶ
The vector that must be added to the vector 𝑖ƶ − 3𝑗ƶ + 2𝑘ƶ and
3𝑖ƶ + 6𝑗ƶ − 7𝑘ƶ so that the resultant vector is a unit vector along the 𝑦-axis
is

1 4𝑖ƶ + 4𝑗ƶ + 5𝑘ƶ

2 −4𝑖ƶ − 2𝑗ƶ + 5𝑘ƶ

3 3𝑖ƶ + 4𝑗ƶ + 5𝑘ƶ

4 Null vector
The angles which a vector 𝑖ƶ + 𝑗ƶ + 2𝑘ƶ make with 𝑋, 𝑌 and 𝑍 axes
respectively are

1 60∘ , 60∘ 60∘

2 45∘ , 45∘ , 45∘

3 60∘ , 60∘ , 45∘

4 45∘ , 45∘ , 60∘
