Kate Spade New York is an American fashion house founded in January 1993 by Kate and Andy Spade.
Kate Spade New York competes with Michael Kors. In 2017, the company was purchased by Tapestry, Inc.,
formerly known as Coach, Inc

Kate Spade was launched in 1993 with six essential handbags, which always stood for optimistic
femininity.

Kate Spade value thoughtful details, think a layer of polished ease looks (and feels) so chic and to us,
modern, sophisticated colors make a personal style statement all their own.

It’s these founding principles that define their unique style. Kate Spade style is synonymous with joy.

the story began when…

Kate Brosnahan Spade, an accessories editor at Mademoiselle, was frustrated she couldn't find the
fashionable, utilitarian handbag she'd been craving for years and set out to design the perfect one out of
her apartment.

She made samples out of construction paper. She combined sleek shapes and colorful palettes in an
entirely new way and debuted six versions of a bag called ‘sam’.
Women and fashion editors loved the designs. They sparked a revolution in accessories.
These thoughtfully integrate signature marks are add to the designs for a delightful surprise.

Kate Spade to test new data-driven technologies in stores
One company that’s experimenting with new
technologies in store is Kate Spade. The company is
updating their in-store retail experience by
introducing new information driven technology that
offers highly personalized style, fit, and size
recommendations to shoppers at select Kate Spade
New York stores. The technology, created in a
partnership with Tulip Retail, a mobile application
platform, and True Fit, a data-driven personalization
platform for footwear and apparel retailers, provides
an information-driven platform where sales
associates become more knowledgeable by having
access to product information and features, and can
interact with shoppers on a more personal level, by
gaining access to personalized customer preferences,
such as preferred brands, styles, and size information.
The new tech will debut at Kate Spade stores later this
year.

Kate Spade follows four seasons – Spring,


Summer, Autumn and Winter and in each
season there are four shipment drops, therefore
using the seasonal sell thru to find the best
styles was not a plausible solution as stock
which was on the floor for more number of
weeks would have a higher chance at a better
sell thru. To get the exact information of how the
stock bought by Kate Spade India has done till
date and which styles and colours are their best
sellers, data was found per drop from the
initiation of Kate Spade in India, which was in
April 2017 till April 2018, which included SS17,
AW17 and Spring 2018. The company’s lifetime
sales and stock data was used for the analysis.
Timeless Designs

Kate Spade’s catwalk displays are notable for


their upbeat tone and design aesthetic. Kitchy
purses and attractive outfits that are worn daily
are seen on its models. All the ensembles are
feminine and charming with a retro vibe; they’re
also fun and girly. Another amazing thing about
Kate Spade is that it isn’t just for young
individuals in New York City. Working ladies,
suburban homemakers, party girls, youngsters,
and new mothers can all find something they
like.
Because it appeals to the Kate Spade woman’s
sense of taste, it will always sell chic handbags
and bright kitten-heeled shoes. It’ll follow new
fashion trends, but only if they’re in keeping with
the brand’s eccentric aesthetic.
