Theme : " Reproductive Biotechnologies for Livestock and Wildlife Species "

A. BACKGROUND

Livestock businesses in Indonesia currently still face various obstacles, one of which is
related to reproductive disorders which disrupt the fertility of livestock, causing low
productivity and genetic quality. Therefore, to overcome low productivity and genetic
qualityis common to apply a technology called reproductive biotechnology. Some examples
of reproductive biotechnology are AI (Artificial Insemination), TE (Embryo Transfer) and
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). Apart from large ruminant (cattle and buffalo) and small
ruminant (goats and sheep) livestock, it is hoped that this reproductive biotechnology can be
applied to livestock or wild animals with one of the aims being to increase the population. It
is hoped that this technology can overcome existing problems and play an important role in
efforts to increase productivity and genetic quality of livestock.

B. OBJECTIVE

Bachelor of Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Animal and Agriculture Science,
Universitas Diponegoro in year 2023 held international guest lecture with the theme
"Reproductive Biotechnologies for Livestock and Wildlife Species" to provide education
regarding the application of reproductive biotechnology to livestock and wild animals for the
studnts.
C. THE EVENT ACTIVITY
International guest lecturer year 2023 held by Bachelor of Animal Science, Faculty of
Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro with the theme "Reproductive
Biotechnologies for Livestock and Wildlife Species" start with sharing session maximize 60
minutes. The event continued with a question and answer (Q and A) session amaximize 90
minutes and ended with the delivery of a closing statement and documentation.
