6. Important Notes
6.1 Seminars of Participants
The workshop will organize two participants’ seminars on September
7 and 15, 2023 (Table 1). These seminars will be organized by the
participants themselves as opportunities for communication and exchange
on ecohydrological research in their respective countries.
Each participant is required to prepare a 30-minute presentation with
5 / 8
PPT slides concerning ecohydrological research in the participants'
countries.
The content of the PPT presentation can include but is not limited to
the following elements: 1) advances of ecohydrology in the participants’
country; 2) case studies or demonstration sites in ecohydrology; 3) how to
foster the development of ecohydrology, theoretical thoughts or research
experiences; 4) current limitation in ecohydrology and suggestions for the
UNESCO-IHP Ecohydrology program.
The PPT presentation in Seminars of Participants is required and
necessary for applying for the certification of participation issued by
UNESCO-IHP Ecohydrology and the host organizer.
6.2 Introduction of Participants
For effective communication, we request all participants to provide a
PPT slide (16:9) introducing themselves. The slide should feature a
personal photograph, contact information, and a brief paragraph
highlighting their educational background, expertise, and research interests.
A reference template will be provided for guidance.
6.3 Weather in Chongqing
The air temperature during the three-week workshop in Chongqing
will be approximately 17℃~30℃. It will be warm but sometimes hot,
mostly sunny and cloudy. Please prepare your clothing and personal
necessities according to the weather conditions.
6.4 Accommodation provision
All participants will reside in the Expert Apartment of the Chongqing
Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of
Sciences, in ONE person per room.
During field trips to the Three Gorges Reservoir, there will be TWO

6 / 8
persons per room, which the cruise line will arrange. Participants can also
organize themselves as roommates during the cruise.
6.5 Food provision
Three meals per day are provided in the canteen of the Chongqing
Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of
Sciences. In addition, drinking water, coffee, and tea will be provided
during the lectures.
6.6 Arrangement and daily allowance during the free days.
The upcoming weekends of September 9-10 and September 16-17
have been designated free days. There will be no lectures scheduled for
Saturdays and Sundays. Participants may arrange their activities, including
excursions to the city. The volunteers from the host organizer can assist as
necessary, including transportation guidance or introduction to the city.
During the free time on Saturday and Sunday, the host organizer will
provide a daily allowance for basic transportation and meals for the
participants.
For security reasons, we kindly ask that participants accurately
describe the Saturday and Sunday itinerary by Friday and return to CAS
Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology by Sunday
evening.
Emergency contact person and telephone numbers will be provided
after arrival.
6.7 Suggestions for preparation of personal belongings
Attendees must bring their personal items, such as cash, credit cards,
and toiletries. There is a grocery store on the CIGIT-CAS campus, which
is about 150 meters from the apartment. During the weekends, participants
can visit shopping centers or supermarkets in Chongqing City. In China,

WeChat or ALIPAY are commonly used for electronic payments, but most
grocery stores, shopping centers, and supermarkets also accept cash.
6.8 Communications during the Workshop
We strongly recommend that all participants download and install the
WeChat app and apply for a WeChat account, commonly used in China.
We will provide a QR code for WeChat and create a WeChat group
for instant communication after the arrival of the participants.
Additionally, we welcome participants to share their daily life and
field surveys on Moments or Live in WeChat during the workshop. Here is
