ENJOYING CLASSICAL DANCE

I had been glad that I lived in Yogyakarta for five years. A place where a big kingdom Mataram
was built by Panembahan Senopati. Even in Giyanti Argreement the Mataram Kingdom devided into
four Swapraja Mataram there are Surakarta Sultanate, Yogyakarta Sultanate, Pakualaman Princely State
and Mangkunegaran Princely State. Last week I watched Catur Sagatra event held by the Swapraja
Mataram.

That was an astonishing event I had ever watched since they showed their own classical dance.
Besides bedaya sacred dance, they also sometimes served beksan which tells a story. The one I
remembered was Beksan Ladrang Mangungkung created by King Mangkunegara X. The beksan was
inspired by Ladrang Mangungkung Troop in Mangkunegara I era.

It consisted of a group of women who dressed and behaved like usual woman but they had
special mission in protecting women royal blood. Ladrang Mangungkung began with seven of women
dressed beautifully, dance smoothly. In the middle of the dance, the women also showed they sword
fighting skill.

DIORAMA ARCHIVE JOGJA

In the middle of 2022, I was chosen as one of five Archive Pageant Queen Held by Library and
Archive Office of Yogyakarta Special Region. It was a big chance for me since I could learn more about
how was archive stored, cared and addressed to public as well as how the journey of the archive for
years.

One of the most stunning experience when I visited Diorama Archive Jogja. It depicted how
good archive management of Library and Archive Office of Jogja. It was built in 2021 which told about
the history archive of Yogyakarta. Once I enjoyed Diorama Archive, I felt as if I had time travel for 430
years in Yogyakarta’s history chronologically. Began from Mataram Kingdom built by Panembahan
Senopati until nowadays in Hamengkubuwana X era of Yogyakarta Sultanate. Diorama Archive Jogja
consists of thirteen rooms that serves many archives interpretation in form of painting, manuscripts
duplicate, statue, photo, hologram, video as well as film. The Diorama Archive Jogja also used
sophisticated technology such as using augmented reality and immersive technology.
