parts and functions

 Headstock / Fixed Head

The headstock is the place for the transmission of motion that regulates the
rotation required during the turning process. Headstock is used as a chuck
and spindle holder, spindle rotation speed regulation, gear box equipment
place, and so on.

 Tailstock / Head Off

Tailstocks are used to support long workpieces, position drill chucks, reamers,
and for the tapered lathe machining process on lathes.

 Toolpost / Sculpture Place

Toolpost is a tool housing, used as a lathe tool holder, using a tool holder.
 Spindle
The spindle is used as a place to install the workpiece for the cutting process.
There are two types of spindles, namely three-jaw spindles and four-jaw
spindles.

 Lead Crew / Carrier Thread

This lead crew is a long threaded shaft located slightly below and parallel to
the edge, extending from the fixed head to the fixed tail. Connected by gears
on fixed head and rotation can be reversed. Attaches to the carriage and is
used as a guide cable to create yarn only and can be removed when not in
use.

 Feedrod / Axle Run

The feedrod is located under the guide thread which serves to transmit power
from the fast gear box to move the deck mechanism in a transverse or
longitudinal direction.

 Carriage / Sled
The carriage consists of a sled, tool holder and apron. To withstand the load
and direct the sled/carriage cutting tool must have a strong structure. This
carriage has two cross slides that serve to direct the chisel in the cross
direction. The upper spindle controls the movement of the tool mount and the
upper spindle to move the stand along the base.

 Bed/Machine Mat
This bed or base serves for a sled or carriage position. The machine base is
part of the main frame of the lathe, on which the carriage and headstock rest
and move, while the groove for the machine base is V-shaped, flat or flat.

 Gear Box / Gear Cabinet

This gear box or gear serves to transmit power from the spindle to the main
screw at different speeds.

 Chuck
Chucks are primarily used for clamping workpieces, especially those of short
length and large diameter or of irregular shape which cannot be fitted
comfortably between centres. It can be attached to the lathe by tightening at
the end of the spindle.

equipments needed for turning process

 Chisel is a cutting tool as workpiece cutting tool. This tool is very important in

lathe practice

 Live Rotate and Fixed So that the long workpiece is stable Flashlight is
required. Adad flashlight dies (fixed) mounted on the main axis of the machine
(main spindle) and a swivel flashlight mounted on the end of the head off

 Center Drill The workpiece being worked on to be attached to the flashlight

requires boring work. The function of the flashlight drill is to drill the end of the
workpiece to which a rotary flashlight will be installed or to make a hole in a
larger diameter
 drill chuck. The use of this tool is to grip the drill bit with a maximum diameter
of 13 millimeters

 The function of the chuck key is to tighten and loosen the chuck jaw on the
lathe. L lock/Hexagon lock The L lock is very widely used, one of which is to
tighten and loosen tool posts.

 Ruler Roll Made from a steel plate that is thinner than a steel ruler, the
function of this rolling ruler is to measure workpieces whose length exceeds
100 cm.
 Brushes, workpieces and even machine beds are often dirty due to lathe working. The
function of the brush is to clean the table
