1.0 INTRODUCTION

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah,
the Lord and the Cherisher of Mankind, peace be upon His Prophet, Prophet Muhammad
S.A.W, our greatly respected companions and the Believers.

Writing skill is an important part of communication. Good writing skill allows us

to communicate our message with clarity and ease. Thus, the Intellectual Development
Bureau from Secretariat of Arabic Language and Literature is planning to organize a
workshop on writing skill under the guidance of our greatly respected al Fadhil al-Ustaz
Dr. Mohd Ikhwan Abdullah, lecturer of Arabic Language and Literature Department. This
program is organized for those who are majoring in Arabic Language and Literature in
order to expose them about the methods and guidelines on how to produce a good writing
especially in Arabic language.

In conclusion, hopefully this little effort from Secretariat of Arabic Language and
Literature (ALA), with the help from the Kulliyyah of IRKHS, will help students in their
studies also, to gain interest to be more professional by applying their knowledge in this
field.

2.0 OBJECTIVE

a) To unleash writing skill among BARB students for better improvement.

b) To expose the guideline and methods to produce best writing especially in
Arabic language.
c) To instil Islamic values and strengthen the bond among BARB students.
d) To expose students the role of literature in spreading Islamic values.

SPEAKER’S BIODATA

Al-Ustaz Dr. Mohd Ikhwan bin Abdullah is a lecturer from Arabic Language and

Literature Department, International Islamic University Malaysia. He obtained his PhD in

Arabic Linguistics from IIUM. He teaches Malay language to Arab students and now

actively tutoring Arabic Language for Malay students from IPTs and secondary schools.
