Head-on

A preposition is a word used with a noun or pronouns to show direction, location, time,
or to introduce an object.
When do we use in, on, and at?
1. In
A, Used to point out nonspecific times during a day, a month, a year, a season, an
incomplete date or a year.
Examples:
I like to exercise in the morning (time)
It’s too hot in summer (season)
She was born in October (month)
My cousins will be coming in 2018 (year)
My younger brother was born in December 2010 (incomplete date)

B. Used to indicate places like a province, city, town, country, state or continent.
Examples:
My friend lives in Bulacan (province)
Gracianne’s house is in Pasay City (city)
It is fun in the Philippines (country)
The Philippines is in Asia (continent)

C. Used to point our location or place


Examples:
The children are in the car
The cat is hiding in the box
The dog is in the center of the room

2. On
A, Used to point out day, a month, and a day, or a complete date.
Examples:
My grandparents are coming on Saturday (day)
Sheryl will have a party on May 26 (month and day)
I was born on Debruary 16, 1999 (complete date)

B. Used to point out names of streets, avenues, roads, drives, boulevards, or islands
Examples:
His house is on Estrellas Road
Mariel lives on Colon Street
Katrina lives on Osmena Boulevard

C. Used to show a position, meaning on the top of or on the surface.


Examples:
The food is on the the table.
The television is on top of the drawer
The baby is sitting on her lap

3. At
A. Used to point out specific times
Examples:
The plane will leave at 2:30 pm.
He will see you at midnight.
My family will pray the rosary at 6 o’clock.

B. Used for specific addresses, before the number of a house and name of a street.
Examples:
Mr. and Mrs. Alsgas live at 16 North Poblacion Street.
He loves at 10 AK-5th Street Kamias, Quezon City.

C. Used to point out a place


Examples:
We watch a basketball game at the basketball court.
There is a swimming party at my house.
