Concept Notes:
 There are four principles of fitness training applicable to individuals exercising at low to moderate levels.
Frequency refers to the number of times you exercise in a week.
Intensity refers to the difficulty of the exercise.
Type refers to the activities that make use of large muscles. Examples include running, walking, swimming, dancing, cycling, aerobics, and circuit training.
Time refers to the length of time you do the physical activity which may be 20 minutes to 30 minutes while maintaining the heart rate

Creating a Physical Activity Program
 In planning for an individual activity program, one should consider cardiovascular benefits in the body. Cardiovascular fitness refers to the muscles and function of the
heart. Warm-up and stretching both play a big part in maintaining flexibility. Warm-up exercises prepare your mind and body for activity by gradually increasing blood
flow to your muscles and raising your body temperature

TOPIC: Origin of Basketball

Concept Notes:
 Basketball was discovered by James Naismith, a Canadian PE instructor at the International YMCA training school in Springfield, Massachusetts. Naismith wanted to
create a game skill for the students instead of one that relies on strength. He started thinking of a new game after the director of his school told him to find a physical
activity to “occupy the class of incorrigibles”.
The objective was to throw the soccer ball into the peach baskets nailed at the lower railing of the gym balcony. He organized 18 players: 9 players for each team, 3
guards, 3 centers, and 3 forwards
