Insights:

There are no Filipinos living and breathing in the Pearl of the Orient Seas who do not
know Jose P. Rizal, the national hero of the Republic of the Philippines. Being one of the
national hero candidates, Rizal stands out due to his different way of fighting for our country’s
liberty. The characteristics he exhibited surpassed those who led the uprising with the mixture of
their own sweat and blood dripping in the land they are fighting for. He delivered his thoughts
and will, his objective and intention, not in an aggressive way, rather by using an ink pen and a
paper and education.

What I learned from Jose Rizal is that education is important. Even if it is not the utmost
key to success, it is still a great factor to live morally, just and aware of one’s standing. Rizal, a
human person just like us, took importance of education and ended up excelling in different
fields. So why is it impossible for us?

He has a strong love for the country and those who were born and lived there. If Filipinos
took education and nationalism seriously, then we are close understanding Rizal.
