Introduction

Science and technology in control systems are developing rapidly. The control system has
played a very important role in the development of science and technology. A control system
is a tool for controlling, command, and regulating the state of a system. The world of
agriculture in the modern era is growing, diverse the development of agriculture technology
began to emerge, such as the development of control in the agricultural sector, so far the use
of control systems in the agriculture sector is unavoidable, almost all agricultural processes
operate using a control system, for example checking and regulating temperature, regulating
soil moisture, controlling disease in fruit and leaves, counting the number of leaves and fruit,
and so on.
Currently, there are many problems in the agricultural sector. such as lack of agricultural
land, expensive rent, poor yields, and so on. The main problems in agricultural sector are
poor harvests and reduced yields in the post-harvest period. In this 4.0 era with very rapid
technological developments, various problems in the agricultural sector can be handled
easily. In line with the success of industry 4.0 in the manufacturing industry, this concept
then began to be adapted to agriculture which is often known as smart farming. Several
developed countries have succeeded in using Industry 4.0 in the agricultural sector.
The system created for this big task is a system that can combine a Smartphone as a Serial
Monitor and hardware control based on an embedded system that can assist farmers in
managing plants from the harvesting process, to be more efficient in setting output, this tool
uses image processing to calculate the number of leaves. and fruit. The system to be built is
expected to provide accurate results according to the conditions in the plant, where the input
parameters are obtained from the image processing sensor. The system aims to estimate the
time of harvest and the amount of harvest. In this study, data was collected from all sensors
so that farmers could monitor the number of leaves and fruit on plants.
