CURRENCY

In Spain, the currency used is the euro. This has eight denominations of coins: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20
and 50 cents. While there are seven denominations of legal tender banknotes in the euro area: 5,
10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500.

RELIGION
According to the Spanish Center for Sociological Research, 38% define themselves as non-
practicing, while 19% see themselves as practicing. 16% of atheists, 12% of agnostics, 13% of
non-believers, and 2% as followers of other religions, which is data from September 2022.

TRADITIONS
1. The Sanfermines are celebrated on July 7 in Pamplona. They make traps by releasing the
bulls through the streets so that the "boys" run in front of them.
2. Flamenco is a folkloric tradition that is lived on stages and at parties, but also in the streets of
Andalusia.
3. The Camino de Santiago is a Christian pilgrimage route. It has medieval origins and goes to
the tomb of Santiago el Mayor, located in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Many
people from all over the world do it.

gained his fame by becoming world champion in 2005 and 2006, racing for Renault.
2. Pablo Picasso was a great painter born in Malaga in 1881. Although his paintings are
his best-known works, Picasso was also a sculptor, poet, playwright, engraver, and
potter.
3. Federico García Lorca was a Spanish poet, born in Andalusia in 1898. The author
explored love and tragedy, and was influenced by gypsy culture, flamenco, and Spanish
folklore.
4. This Spanish singer collected fame throughout the world during her career. With music
ranging from flamenco, Andalusian copla, bolero, Romanesque ballad and Spanish pop.
5. Alejandro Sanz, with a musical career spanning more than 30 years, this Spanish singer
has become an icon and one of the most influential singers in Spain.
6. This Spanish singer is possibly the most famous worldwide. Composer, musician,
lawyer, ex-soccer player and businessman, Julio began his career in 1968, but there is
no end to it.
