( EXPANSION PROJECT )

100 TPD TO 200 TPD SPONGE IRON WITH 4 MW WHRB POWER PLANT

KUNJ BIHARI STEEL PVT. LTD (KBSL) incorporated on 8th June ‘2004 was set up in the
year 2006 to manufacture Sponge Iron of 100 TPD i.e. 30000 TPA After successfully
running of the existing plant the promoters have decided for expansion of the existing unit
and set up DRI Kiln of 1 x 100 TPD and 4 MW ( WHRB ) Power Plant. The expansion project
will be located within the existing plant area ( 10.25 acres) at Jamuria Industrial Estate,
Mondalpur P.O. Nandi, Dt. Burdwan, in the state of West Bengal. and will be entitled to
various financial incentives under West Bengal incentives Scheme. the capital cost of the
project is estimated at Rs. 4053.82 Lacs with a implantation period of 15 months form the
Environmental Clearance date.

The site is accessible by NH 2 at a distance of 4.5 km. Nearest Railway Station is Raniganj
about 10 Km in (S) direction and nearest Airport is Andal at 16 km and Kolkata at 180 km in
(E) direction. Nearest City / Town is Asansol at 8 km and Raniganj at 9.5 km. Damodar river
at 11.2 km (S) and Ajay river at 8 km (NE). Nearest forest area is Gangajalghati P.F. at 16
km (S). Inter state border Jharkhand is 12 km (N) from the site.

Worker / staff is easily available locally since the unit is located with in Industrial Estate.
Water is also available at site from ADDA industrial water supply line. Permission from
ADDA is received by the unit for 600 KL per day. Power is available from DVC. Additional
power will be available from DVC and proposed Captive Power Plant (CCP).
The major raw material required for the Plant are Iron ore , Coal, and Dolomite. Iron ore is
available from Jharkhand & Orissa. Coal & Dolomite is locally available.
