1.3.2 The Bidder shall furnish with the quotation for each burner four copies plus one reproducible transparency
of the following:

a. Data Sheets: containing the requested information and indicating any deviations from the data shown
thereon.

b. Burner Capacity Curves: indicating fuel pressure and burner capacity for each fuel specified, over the
operating range specified.

c. Dimensioned Outlined Drawings: Showing burner and general details of construction including plenum
chamber and noise suppressor if provided, and material specifications of major components.

d. Mounting Details: showing specific requirements for fixing burners to furnace sheathing or plate.

e. Piping Connections: showing exact location, size and rating, and facing of all piping connections including
pilot if provided.

f. Burner Block Details: showing method of support and integration into burner, windbox or furnace setting.

g. Miscellaneous Supplier Data: information required by the Purchaser to make the burners operational as
follows:

1. Auxiliary requirements such as bearing cooling water or lubrication.

2. Requirements specified by the Seller for modifications (if any) to the air inlet system, or burner
arrangement to comply with Article 1.4.

3. Provisions for replacement of critical burner parts during operation, or in lieu of this, specific
recommendations for maintenance.

4. Noise level data at the operator's position when adjusting burners.

1.3.3 The data requested in Paragraph 1.3.2 shall be submitted as checked preliminary drawings. This data
will be used by the Purchaser to proceed with engineering work prior to receipt of certified final drawings.

1.3.4 In lieu of providing drawings for any of the requirements of Paragraph 1.3.2, the Seller may refer to his
standard drawings, if he submits his standard drawings or a copy of the letter indicating the Purchaser is in
possession of the referenced standard drawings.

1.4 Seller's Guarantee

1.4.1 The Seller shall guarantee the following:

a. Burner heat liberation for the specified maximum design capacity when the burner is installed in the furnace
and windbox (if any) as described and shown on the attachments to the Inquiry. Burner liberation shall be
determined by the use of a fuel flow meter.

b. Acceptance of full responsibility for all component parts of the burner plus auxiliaries in regard to design,
selection, fabrication, and coordination of the various components.

1.5 Drawings and Data to be Furnished by the Seller

1.5.1 Certified outline drawings for the burners with auxiliary equipment shall show all details and information
required by the Purchaser to make the unit operational. This includes as a minimum, the following:

a. horizontal and vertical clearances necessary for replacing or dismantling burner gun or other critical parts

b. schematic diagram of burner fuel piping

c. recommendations for type of connections, i.e., rigid or flexible hose; and for screens in fuel piping

d. required tolerances and details of integral components to be furnished by the Purchaser.

e. instructions for field handling of burners containing movable parts

f. expansion joints required in adjacent furnace setting.

1.5.2 Certified wiring diagrams for auxiliary systems shall be supplied when applicable. These drawings shall
clearly indicate the extent of the portions to be supplied by both the Seller and Purchaser.

1.5.3 The installation, maintenance and operation instructions shall include the following for each burner:

a. cross-sectional drawing
b. complete parts list
c. priced recommended spare parts list for one year of operation
d. lubrication schedule (for rotating burners only).

2. DESIGN

2.1 General

2.1.1 Burners shall be designed for the design heat liberation for the fuels, excess air, and draft specified on the
Burner Data Sheet.

2.1.2 Burner design shall consider burner spacing and clearances from furnace tubes and refractory walls
needed to prevent flame impingement on tubes and walls.

2.1.3 Burner shall be designed for a specific percentage of primary air, through the burner and at inside of the
furnace, and a specific turndown ratio when so specified on the Burner Data Sheet.

2.1.4 Burner tiles shall be provided with adequate means of support and anchorage, with provisions for
expansion of the adjacent setting. No metal portion of burner tile support shall be exposed to radiant heat.

2.1.5 Devices for admission of air to burners shall be adequately protected against variation in external wind
pressure, unbalanced fires, and outside burning.

2.2 Connections

2.2.1 Fuel and atomizing steam piping connections, and connections for auxiliary requirements shall be
threaded connections drilled and tapped in accordance with ASME B1.20.1.

2.2.2 Electrical connections for transformers and push buttons shall be 3/4 in. through connections.

Division 2 as defined in NFPA 70, and shall be of U.L. (Underwriters Laboratory) approved components.

2.3.2 The power supply for the ignition system shall be 240 V, 60 Hz single phase (two-wire, one side grounded
unless otherwise noted).

2.4 Flame Detectors

When flame detectors are specified by the Purchaser, the Seller shall provide mounting and other requirements
necessary to install the flame detector as specified on the Burner Data Sheet. The detector will be supplied by
the Purchaser.

2.5 Noise Suppression

Unless otherwise noted, the maximum A-weighted sound level shall be 95 dBA at the operator's position when
adjusting the burners. When this cannot be obtained, Seller shall recommend noise suppression devices to be
provided and the noise level to be attained by this recommendation.

2.6 Burner Operation

2.6.1 All burner components required for operation such as connections, parts, sights, and operating handles,
shall be suitably arranged and oriented to accommodate the existing conditions at the burner location.

2.6.2 Oil burners shall be removable during operation.
