1. CLASSIFICATION OF DRAWINGS

In order to specifically define the contents required for drawings and data, and to provide a coordinating and
expediting basis between KBR and the Supplier, drawings and data are classified into Codes A, B, and C.
(Note: KBR will be referred to as the Purchaser.)

2. CODE A REQUIREMENTS

2.1 General

Drawings and data in this code contain priority information urgently required by Purchaser to complete
design and to confirm compliance with specifications.

2.2 CODE A0: SUPPLIER DRAWINGS AND DATA INDEX

2.2.1 The Supplier Drawing and Data Index shall list all anticipated drawings and data inclusive of any
drawings and data from any subsuppliers. THIS INDEX IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF COMMITMENT.

2.2.2 The Supplier shall provide the following information on the index:

a. Correct titles for all drawings and data.


b. Drawing or data numbers where applicable.
c. Code number and suffix letter as described in this procedure.
d. Quantities of drawings or data submitted.
e. Dates on which each drawing or data will be submitted.
f. Drawing status Revision 0 for initial issue or revision number.
g. All other entries (job number, requisition number, etc.) shall be completed by the Supplier.

2.2.3 AN UPDATED INDEX SHALL BE SUBMITTED WITH EACH ISSUE OF DRAWINGS AND DATA.

2.3 CODE A1: DIMENSIONED OUTLINE DRAWINGS

2.3.1 Dimensioned outline drawings showing the overall configuration of the pressure part(s) to be
supplied.

a. Cast fitting drawings shall show number of fittings poured per each melt.
b. Internally finned tube manufacturing procedure with dimensioned scale drawing of tube and fin
configuration.

2.4 CODE A8: SAMPLES

a. Internally finned tube Samples

Supplier shall submit internally finned tube sample in accordance with Purchaser Technical Specification
MB13-8M, Article 1.3.

b. Cast Tube/Centerweld Samples

Supplier shall submit at least three (3) Cast Tube/Centerweld samples as follows:

1. As cast metal quality.


2. As machined surface finish.
3. Type of welding.
4. Weld surface finishes which are representative of production welds.

3. CODE B REQUIREMENTS

3.1 General

These drawings and data contain information required by Purchaser to review and confirm overall
compliance of the components with the specifications.

3.2 CODE B1: DETAIL DRAWINGS

Detailed drawings shall be provided for all pressure part(s) showing the overall length, number of tube
segments, width, wall thickness(es) and weld bevel details. Drawings should also contain material
specification, welding symbols and inspection details, hydrostatic test procedure, and requirements for
stamping per code of all part(s) as required. Drawings are also to show the size and location of gates
and risers.

3.3 CODE B3: CALCULATIONS

3.3.1 The Supplier shall submit calculations for the design of integrally reinforced fittings.

3.3.2 For integrally reinforced fittings designed to ASME B31.3, the Supplier shall submit calculations
or certification that the fittings have been pressure tested in accordance with the code requirements.
For integrally reinforced fittings designed to ASME Section I or ASME Section VIII Division 1, the
Supplier shall submit calculations only. Pressure testing is not acceptable for these codes.

3.4 CODE B4: TECHNICAL DATA

a. For lengths over 40 feet (12 000 mm) the bidder may submit an alternative quotation for pipe or tube
with center weld in accordance with the requirements of Section 3 of MB14-1M and the applicable
portions of ASTM A422.

b. Where center welds are proposed, the bidder shall furnish the following samples and information with
his quotation:

1. Proposed tube segment lengths to be used for each specified tube length.

2. Proposed heat treatment time and temperatures necessary to comply with the requirements of
Article 3.4.

c. Welding Procedure Specifications and Procedure Qualifications Reports shall be submitted by the
Supplier prior to commencement of welding.

d. Cast tube and/or cast fitting supplier shall submit raw test data and developed results of long term creep
rupture tests, at temperature, to substantiate the required allowable stress for design.

3.5 CODE B6: SHIPPING/TRANSPORTATION DATA

3.5.1 Shipping and packing shall be in accordance with Purchaser Technical Standard MB1-4TS. These
documents may include the following:

a. Lifting Diagram
b. Site Receiving/Handling instructions
c. Site storage requirements
d. Shipping and packaging details

4. CODE C REQUIREMENTS

4.1 General

Drawings and data in this CODE contain information for record purposes and for use by the
Fabricator.

4.2 CODE C0: SUPPLIER QUALITY PLAN

4.2.1 A detailed plan developed by the Supplier that chronologically details all manufacturing operations and
the corresponding inspection/testing activities as required by the code(s) of construction, the Purchase Order
and the Supplier's own quality procedures. The Supplier shall also incorporate into the Quality Plan, the
Purchaser's inspection activities defined in the Purchaser's Inspection and Test Plan.

a. A detailed Supplier Quality Plan shall be submitted to the Purchaser for review prior to scheduling the
Pre- Inspection meeting. A Pre-Inspection Meeting shall not be held until the Supplier Quality Plan has
been reviewed by the Purchaser.

b. The Supplier Quality Plan will be discussed in detail at the Pre-Inspection Meeting. Purchaser
comments and modifications to the Supplier Quality Plan shall be finalized at the Pre-inspection
Meeting.

c. The Supplier Quality Plan shall be revised in accordance with the agreements set forth in the Pre-
Inspection Meeting and resubmitted to the Purchaser for final acceptance.

4.3 CODE C1: PROCEDURES

a. The surface clearing procedure to be used shall be submitted.

b. Method of chemical analysis and proposed quality control shall be submitted.

4.4 CODE C2: TEST REPORTS (MANUFACTURER'S DATA REPORTS/RECORDS)

a. Mill test reports showing chemical analysis and mechanical test results suitably identified with part
number and description.

b. Furnace heat treatment charts and records, including temperature and time.

c. Burst test results.

d. The manufacturer shall prepare a log of all markings applied to the tube, fittings and assemblies.
The log shall show color, description and location of markings. One copy of the log shall be sent
to the coil fabricator with the shipment and number of other copies specified shall be sent to the
Purchaser. For cast tubes fabricated from segments, an assembly map shall be prepared to
record each cast tube segment, heat number, and each weld identification number with its welder
and nondestructive test.

e. Alloy verification reports.

f. Ink prints or Photo copies of internally finned tube showing fin size, fin configuration and number
of fins.

g. Dimensional measurements, measurement technique and manufacturing procedure for non-


standard fittings

h. Reports of internally finned radiant tubes grain size determination test results. Grain size tests
and acceptance of test results shall be in accordance with KBR Specification MB13-8M.

i. Reports of internally finned radiant tubes microsegregation results. Microsegregation inspection and
acceptance shall be in accordance with KBR Specification MB13-8M.

4.5 CODE C4: GOVERNMENTAL AND THIRD PARTY REQUIREMENTS

All data such as design calculations, test certificates, and performance data required by governmental
authority or third parties, where such third parties have been engaged, shall be submitted.

4.6 CODE C5: MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS (MSDS's)

Labeling and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) shall be provided in accordance with the Terms
and Conditions of Purchase Order. Number of copies furnished shall be as listed on Page 1 of this
standard.

The Supplier shall provide a complete list of all parts shipping as an assembly or shipping loose with the
assembly.
