TABLE OF CONTENTS
1. CLASSIFICATION OF DRAWINGS
In order to more specifically define the contents required for drawings and data and to provide a coordinating
and expediting basis between KBR and the Supplier, drawings and data are classified into Codes A, B, C,
and D. (Note: KBR will be referred to as the Purchaser.)
2. CODE A REQUIREMENTS
2.1 General
Drawings and data in this group contain priority information urgently required by Purchaser to complete
design work and to confirm compliance with specifications.
2.2.1 The Supplier shall list all anticipated drawings and data inclusive of any drawings and data from any
subsuppliers. THIS INDEX IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF COMMITMENT.

2.2.2 The Supplier Drawing and Data shall provide the following information on the index:
2.2.3 AN UPDATED INDEX SHALL BE SUBMITTED WITH EACH ISSUE OF DRAWINGS AND DATA.
2.3.1 In general, dimensioned outline drawings shall consist of a composite arrangement drawing showing
location and details of all Supplier/Purchaser connections and required clearances for maintenance. The
following paragraphs outline specific requirements for subcategories of engineered equipment.
a. For Burners
1. In addition to the general requirements above, the outline drawings must show details of the air
inlet, noise suppression devices, burner mounting, and location and orientation of air flow control
mechanism, sight ports, lighting ports, burner tile, burner tile support method, burner tile mortaring
requirements and burner tips.
2. Outline drawings shall show horizontal and vertical clearances necessary for replacing or
dismantling burner gun or other critical parts.
3. Outline drawings shall show required tolerances for interfaces between the burner and Purchaser's
firebox including burner plenum mounting to furnace wall, burner tile support, location of firebrick
with respect to burner tile and windbox connections to air-preheat ducting.
4. Outline drawings shall show location of all refractory expansion joints between burner or tile and
adjacent furnace setting.
In addition to general requirements above, the composite outline drawing must show location and
orientation of all associated components including fan, driver(s), gear(s), coupling(s), clutch, lube oil
system, damper, damper actuator, and base. Drawing must also indicate thermal movements of ducting
connections.

In addition to the general requirements, the outline drawings must show the catalyst module dimensions,
weight, suggested catalyst module arrangement, number of module layers, module support and sealing
details, suggested upstream / downstream sampling provisions.

e. For Dampers
In addition to general requirements above, the outline drawing must show location and orientation of all
associated subcomponents. Drawing must include thermal expansion clearance at design conditions,
manufacturing tolerances, and form tolerances. Original part numbers of all procured items such as
bearings, instrumentation will be shown on drawing. Direction of rotation of damper shaft to open or
close dampers will be shown.
Diagrams shall include a tabulation of the horizontal and vertical dead load, live wind load, live earthquake
load, and any other applicable live load such as that imposed by the acceleration and deceleration of rotating
equipment. Diagrams shall include statements regarding any short term loads imposed during erection or
normal maintenance.
2.5.1 General
a. Process flow, and piping and instrumentation diagrams that convey the overall inter-relationship of
components within the Supplier's scope shall be provided for packaged systems.
b. When equipment and instrument numbers are assigned by the Purchaser, the Supplier shall incorporate
these numbers into their flow diagrams and P&ID's. With Purchaser's approval, cross-reference tables
may be provided for multiple trains of identical equipment, or when Supplier has a standardized
numbering system.
a. Flow Diagrams shall be provided for packaged systems and shall show the following:
1. Stream names.
2. Stream composition.
3. Flow rate for each stream.
4. Pressure, temperature and phase state of each stream.
a. P&ID's shall be provided, where applicable, and shall indicate all equipment, piping, valves, instruments,
electrical components, and accessories that comprise the Supplier's system(s).
b. Diagrams shall represent normal operation. Valves that are normally open or closed shall be so
indicated.
c. Each instrument used shall be shown on P&ID drawing and shall comply with ISA 5.1, “Instrument
Symbols and Identifications”, e.g., gauges, indicators, control valves, solenoids, position switches, etc.
1. Each piece of equipment, including spare equipment, along with equipment numbers.
2. All customer connections with connection reference symbol/number.

a. Supplier shall submit the Equipment Protection Philosophy narrative. Major equipment associated with
the package and the required protection/safety shutdowns are to be identified.
b. Supplier will be required to supply an electronic format of an instrument index. The Purchaser will give
this format to the Supplier at the Supplier Coordination meeting (SCM).
c. Supplier shall furnish logic interlock and shutdown matrix with a descriptive narrative or logic diagrams.
The Supplier and Purchaser shall agree at the time of the proposal if matrix with narrative or logic
diagrams will be provided. Logic symbols shall comply with ISA 5.2, “Binary Logic Diagrams for Process
Operations.”
d. When the Supplier furnishes a PLC, communication bitmaps between PLC and DCS shall be provided.
e. Operating shutdown matrix/logic diagram shall be furnished in hard copy format. If a PLC is furnished
with the package, a hardcopy as well as electronic format of the ladder logic (PLC program printout)
shall be provided. If Human Machine Interface (HMI) is furnished, color graphics shall be furnished in
both hard copy and electronic format.
g. Inter connection diagrams between the different junction boxes, local panel(s) and control room shall be
furnished.
h. Specific grounding requirements shall be included. (PLC signal grounding, panel power grounding, etc.)

i. For all instruments furnished loose, relative location and dimensions of components and sub-assemblies
are required for field assembly.
j. Supplier shall provide normal operating current and inrush current duration for panel fuses and circuits.
l. Electrical termination arrangement drawing shall be required for all electrical devices provided by
Supplier, including any devices to be wired by others.
m. Instrument Schematic.
q. Alarm/Shutdown Summary.
2.7.1 Piping Loading and Interface Data shall be provided as indicated on the SDR-2 Form and shall include
the following:
a. Maximum allowable forces and moments in three planes that may be applied to major process
connections by Purchaser's piping.
b. A list of all Purchaser piping connections with size, rating, and identification symbol/number (may be
included on outline drawing). See Sub Paragraph 4.3.1. l.
2.8.1 A tabulation of all utility requirements shall be provided for: normal (steady state) operation, startup,
shutdown, maximum number of units operating one at a time, and for extreme transient conditions. Utilities
include: steam, fuel, nitrogen, instrument air, plant air, cooling water, electric power, flush media, test media,
etc. The tabulation shall include:

d. Power consumption of all electrical users (including control power and electric tracing).
a. Data sheets are required for burners, fans, drivers, air preheaters, and any instruments/valves as well as
catalog cut sheets furnished. If requested, Supplier must return completed Purchaser data sheets.
b. For Burners: Published information on the burner tile refractory detailing maximum temperature, normal
service temperature, dry density, shrinkage, cold crushing strength and chemical analysis shall be
supplied.
c. For constant and variable spring supports: The data sheets shall include tag number, size, figure
number, type, spring constant, hot load, installed load and movement.
3. CODE B REQUIREMENTS
3.1 General
These drawings and data contain information required by Purchaser to review and confirm overall
compliance of the equipment with the specifications.
3.2.1 In general, detailed drawings must be provided for all component parts along with a descriptive parts
list and a drawing indicating the location of all component parts. The following paragraphs outline specific
requirements for subcategories of engineered equipment.
a. For Burners: In addition to general requirements above, detail drawings must provide fully dimensioned
sectional details of burner tips or spiders, burner pilots, tiles, air flow control mechanism, ignition system,
and burner management system.
b. For Fans and Drivers: In addition to general requirements above, detail drawings must include cross
sections and details of all drivers, seals, bearings, clutches, governors, lube oil system components, and
couplings.
c. For Air Preheaters: In addition to general requirements above, detail drawings must include cross
sections and details of seals, bearings, driver components, lube oil system components, and heat
transfer surfaces. If inlet flow distributors, internal flow distributors, or internal flow channels are
included, drawings must also show cross sections and details of these items.
d. For SCR Catalyst: In addition to the general requirements above, detail drawings must include seal
design between catalyst module and support frame, clearance requirements for loading and unloading
catalyst, and location and detail of catalyst test elements / coupons.
e. For Constant and Variable Spring Supports: In addition to general requirements above, detail drawing
must include fully dimensioned spring casing hanger assembly, spring scale, and nameplate.
f. Certified wiring diagrams for auxiliary systems shall be supplied when applicable. These drawings shall
clearly indicate the extent of the portions to be supplied by both the seller and the Purchaser.

3.3.1 Drawings or diagrams must indicate all mark numbers, sequence of assembly or erection, and any
notes necessary to ensure satisfactory assembly, preparation for lifting, and erection. For items which are
part shop and part field fabricated, drawings shall indicate the extent of shop and field fabrication. Drawings
must also indicate proper lift points and notes on required lifting device.
a. For Burners: A shop inspection procedure shall be provided detailing the necessary inspection points
and associated tolerances of the assembled burner.
b. For Fans and Dryers: In addition to the general requirements above, fan wheel removal details and
dimensions shall be provided.
c. For Air Preheaters: Details showing removal of air preheater components such as baskets shall be
provided.
d. For SCR Catalyst: In addition to the general requirements above, drawings must include requirements
for loading/unloading catalyst, access doors, panels, supporting structure, and details of special tools.
3.5.1 Predicted performance information in addition to that shown on data sheets is required as outlined
below.
a. For Burners: Fuel pressure versus firing level curves must be provided for all fuels covering design firing
to maximum turndown firing rate. Required atomizing medium conditions must also be specified. If
requested, the combustion air pressure (or air damper position) versus firing level must be provided.
b. For Fans and Drivers: The following data must be supplied as applicable:
1. For constant speed fans, the performance curve must include efficiency, static pressure, and
horsepower for the normal operating speed. The performance curve must also indicate the capacity
and surge limit effect of damper closure in 10 degree increments. A separate curve with the same
information is to be provided for winter start-up conditions.
2. For variable speed fans, the performance curve must include efficiency, static pressure, and
horsepower for the maximum continuous operating speed. The curve must also indicate the
capacity impact of speed reduction and must indicate the speed/performance curve which passes
through the normal capacity and maximum turndown capacity. If the fan is provided with both
variable speed and a damper for capacity control, performance curves must be provided to indicate
the combined degree of control. The dampered performance at maximum continuous speed and at
minimum speed should be provided.
3. Fan speed/torque curves must be provided indicating the starting torque required for winter start-up
with damper open and also with damper closed.
4. Motor drive speed/torque curves must be provided for 100% and 80% voltage.
5. Turbine drive steam chest pressure versus power output must be provided. Curve should also
indicate the impact of hand valves on power output.

c. For Air Preheaters: Performance of air preheater for normal operation and maximum flow operation
(air/flue gas temperature and pressure at the inlet and outlet) must be provided. Minimum heat transfer
surface temperature exposed to flue gas must also be stated. If provisions must be made (such as inlet
air heating or airside bypass) to maintain heat transfer surface temperature above flue gas dew point
during winter ambient conditions, supplier must define these requirements through discussion with
Purchaser.
d. For SCR Catalyst: The SCR catalyst supplier shall provide the following performance data for the
duration of guaranteed catalyst life: NOx Conversion vs. flue gas temperature, SO2 to SO3 conversion
vs. flue gas temperature, Ammonia slip vs. NOx conversion and flue gas temperature, pressure drop vs.
flue gas flow across the catalyst and guaranteed catalyst life.
e. For Miscellaneous Mechanical Items: Operating consumption of steam, electricity, power air, instrument
air, cooling water, etc., must be provided. In addition, operating speed or reaction time must be stated,
and flow, torque, or performance characteristic versus control signal must be provided. For critical
control or safety devices such as isolation dampers, time vs. position must be provided.
f. Welding Procedure Specifications and Procedure Qualification Reports shall be submitted by the
Supplier prior to commencement of welding.
3.6.1 The following information shall be furnished as noted on the SDR-2 Form:
3.7.1 Shipping and packing shall be in accordance with Purchaser Technical Standard MB1-4TS. These
documents may include the following:
a. Lifting Diagram
b. Site Receiving/Handling instructions
c. Site storage requirements
d. Shipping and packaging details
4. CODE C REQUIREMENTS
4.1 General
Drawings and data in Code C contain information for contract compliance, record purposes and for use by
the equipment user.

4.2.1 A detailed plan developed by the Supplier that chronologically details all manufacturing operations and
the corresponding inspection/testing activities as required by the code(s) of construction, the Purchase Order
and the Supplier's own quality procedures. The Supplier shall also incorporate into the Quality Plan, the
Purchaser's inspection activities defined in the Purchaser's Inspection and Test Plan.
a. A detailed Supplier Quality Plan shall be submitted to the Purchaser for review prior to scheduling the
Pre- Inspection meeting. A Pre-Inspection Meeting shall not be held until the Supplier Quality Plan has
been reviewed by the Purchaser.
b. The Supplier Quality Plan will be discussed in detail at the Pre-Inspection Meeting. Purchaser
comments and modifications to the Supplier Quality Plan shall be finalized at the Pre-inspection
Meeting.
c. The Supplier Quality Plan shall be revised in accordance with the agreements set forth in the Pre-
Inspection Meeting and resubmitted to the Purchaser for final acceptance.
4.4.1 Performance test reports submitted shall reflect the test requirements as specified in the equipment
specification. The report shall state the test objectives, procedures used, equipment used during test, test
data produced, and test results.
4.5.1 The supplier shall submit the specified number of copies of a composite manual which shall apply to
the principal equipment and all sub equipment. The manual shall specify all necessary or recommended
procedures or practices the supplier indicates should be followed regarding all aspects of the equipment
handling, installation, maintenance, and operation.
a. For Burners:
The Installation-Maintenance-Operating instructions shall include the following for each type of burner
and for the ganged damper system.

All data such as design calculations, test certificates, and performance data required by governmental
authority or third parties, where such third parties have been engaged, shall be submitted.
Labeling and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) shall be provided in accordance with the Terms and
Conditions of Purchase Order. Number of copies furnished shall be as listed on Page 1 of this standard.
Specific information required in advance of the maintenance manual(s) for the equipment shall be furnished
as noted on the SDR-2 Form. This information may be needed for pre-commissioning planning.
5. CODE D REQUIREMENTS
5.1 General
5.2 CODE D1: SPARE PARTS LIST (RECOMMENDED FOR CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION)
A priced recommended spare part listing shall be submitted which applies to the principal equipment and any
and all sub-equipment. Unless otherwise specified, quantities shall be sufficient for one year's operation.
The Supplier shall provide a complete list of all parts shipping as an assembly or shipping loose with the
assembly.
