● India initiated a sequence of Five-Year
Plans to foster economic growth and
achieve development goals.
● The concept of Five-Year Plans was
first implemented by Joseph Stalin in
the Soviet Union in 1928.

Fifth Five Year 1974-1978 ● Focus was on Poverty alleviation and

the plan.
● Rolling Plan (1978-1980)
A rolling plan is one in which the effectiveness of
the plan is evaluated annually and a new plan is
created the following year based on this
evaluation. As a result, throughout this plan,
both the allocation and the targets are updated.
It was launched by the Janta government.

प रणामस्वरूप, इस पूरी योजना के दौरान, आवंटन और
