Topic: Get to know each other
Contents: Vocabulary – have to/doesn't have to.
Objective Description
Students sit in chairs. The teacher enters the classroom
and greets the students by saying “Good afternoon”.
The students answer by saying “good afternoon”.
The teacher starts the class with an introduction of each
student, making them raise their hands, then we have to
introduce ourselves to the students because she asked
us to.
Once we finish, the teacher asks the students for the
homework, which was ( ) evaluator. Then she writes a
task on the board but doesn’t write the indication of what
they have to do. The teacher clarifies that the task is
similar to the one the students did in the previous class,
and they have to solve it in order to hand it at the end of
the hour. She asks for the participation of the students to
write four names on the board.
The teacher walks between the tables asking if
somebody needs help, until the bell rings.
The hour ends and some students hand in the task,
some others not. The students leave, then the teacher
does.

Subjective Description
The students got surprised when the teacher asked
for the homework and said it was a way of
evaluation. There were some students that got the
task, but some others not. They also were not
paying attention to the class, except for a few of
them who were participating through the lesson with
a low level of the language.
Some students were talking about what they did on
the weekend, without paying attention to what the
teacher was saying. Some were distracted, but
some others seemed to be doing the task given.
Therefore, the teacher always seemed to be open to
talk with them and help them to solve the task.

Reflection/ Improvement
In my opinion, there was some kind of interest of the
students in participating, despite being a difficult subject for
their level of the language.
Jeremy Harmer said, “teachers of English generally make
three basic distinctions to categorise the language
knowledge of their students: beginner, intermediate and
advanced”. (Jeremy Harmer, how to teach English)
There was a warm atmosphere, the teacher always tried to
help the students and was aware of their difficulties and
capabilities, so she respected their spaces but encouraging
them to participate and allowing the mistake inside the
classroom to learn ( ) new contents. She worked with oral
skills by making them talk not only between each other, but
also individually. -
The grammar with they were working ( ) seemed to be
given a few lessons ago, as the students already knew the
task and were familiar with it. Based on that observation, I
can say that it was an evaluation lesson.

4- Aim/s of the lesson:

In this case, the students worked with grammar already given to them lessons ago using their
previous knowledge and working with social and oral skills.
5- Teacher´s objectives:
The teacher’s objective was to get to assimilate the grammar with tools of the hardware, which they
are familiar with.
6- Describe learners’ participation.
Active participation, with a low level of the language. Some of them were not paying attention, but still
taking notes.
7- Describe the general behaviour and attitude of learners during the lesson.
At the beginning of the class, the students were a little energetic and with little interest towards the
class, but they participated during the lesson.
