 All temperatures are in Celsius units (unless specified otherwise).

 The specific location(s) and environment in which the skids will be installed
shall be specified within the purchasing documents.

6 Service Conditions

The skids shall be designed for the same service conditions as the controllers mounted
on the skids.

7 Construction Features

7.1 Skid

7.1.1 Steel design shall be in accordance with the AISC, “Manual of Steel
Construction” requirements.

7.1.2 Welding shall be in accordance with AWS D1.1 “Structural Welding

Code” requirements. A continuous fillet shall be used to seal all
adjoining members.

7.1.3 Skid shall be designed to resist, without damage to associated equipment,

all loads and stresses resulting from lifting and handling. Maximum
deflection of the base during lifting and transporting shall not exceed
L/240.

7.1.4 Shall be of welded construction, rigidly braced with welded cross

members and integral permanent provisions for multiple point lifting.
Jacking facilities shall be provided for base leveling.

7.1.5 If a severe corrosive environment, skid shall be hot-dip galvanized after

the completion of the welding and drilling associated with the fabrication
of the skid structure. It is acceptable to drill holes in the galvanized skid
structure to attach small accessories (e.g., cable clamps) provided the
bare metal is touched-up with zinc-rich paint.

7.1.6 For a severe corrosive environment, stainless steel hardware shall be

used for the assembly of the complete skid and for the attachment of any
accessories.

7.1.7 Provision for grounding the skid structure shall be made at diagonally
opposite corners. The skid structure shall be designed to accommodate
two-hole compression connector at each corner. Exposed grounding
conductors shall be insulated. Insulation shall be green, or green with
yellow stripes. Exposed connections and terminations shall be
thoroughly covered with a suitable weather resistant compound for
protection from corrosion.

7.1.8 For onshore installations as well as offshore installations where the skid
is exposed to direct sunlight, a gable canopy shall be provided over the
skid. The canopy shall have the following characteristics:

7.1.8.1 Shall extend a minimum of 1 meter horizontally beyond the

base of the skid.

7.1.8.2 Gable surfaces shall be sloped a minimum of 15 degrees from

the horizontal plane.

7.1.8.3 If a severe corrosive environment, complete canopy assembly

shall be stainless steel.

7.1.9 For onshore installations, shall include integral drip tray(s) with a
capacity of 1.5 times the volume of the transformer oil contained in the
transformer(s) mounted on the skid. If a severe corrosive environment,
drip tray material shall be stainless steel.

7.1.10 For offshore installations, no drip tray shall be required.

7.2 Controller

7.2.1 Type of controller shall be indicated in the purchasing documents.

7.2.2 Controller shall be manufactured per 55-SAMSS-002.

7.3 Transformer

7.3.1 Transformer requirements on the skid shall be as indicated in the

purchasing documents.

7.3.2 Transformers shall be manufactured per 55-SAMSS-003.

7.4 Electrical

7.4.1 All wiring methods, raceways, shall conform to ANSI/NFPA 70.

7.4.2 Wireways and raceways shall be either hot-dip galvanized or stainless

steel.

Exception: Flexible conduit; if liquid tight non-metallic overall sheath is used.

7.4.3 All cables shall have a liquid tight non-metallic overall sheath.

7.4.4 All wiring outside of the enclosures on the skid shall be minimum 600 V
rated, 2.5 sq mm (14 AWG) stranded copper, installed in raceways or
cable trays.

7.4.5 All control and accessory wiring shall be identified with a slip-on
thermoplastic wire marker with permanently printed characters. Snap-on
and adhesive type markers are prohibited.

7.4.6 Equipment grounding shall be in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 70.

provided for terminating the wellhead cable to the skid. This box shall
have the following characteristics:

7.4.7.1 Be equipped with either:

 A breather and drain mechanism

 For sheet metal enclosures, the above or a 5mm hole

drilled in the bottom of the enclosure

7.4.7.2 Be certified and labeled by a third-party certification

organization as meeting the below NEMA or IP criteria.

7.4.7.3 If installed in a severe corrosive environment:
