The reason why we conducted this project is to give everyone knowledge in a household in a
very informative way.
VII. PROJECT RATIONALE:
- In Philippines, there are a lot of cases and incidents that are caused by electricity. Like in
Cebu City, the No.1 cause of fire is electrical misuse according to newsinfo.inquirer.net. Two
deaths were recorded, and property damage reached P15.4 million. Comar told the Cebu
Daily News that this mostly happens because of illegal connections and the use of octopus
wires. An octopus electrical connection involves plugging several devices into a wall socket.
This also refers to an extension cord with multiple outlets. This poses a risk of overheating
or an electrical overload. Fire incidents increased during the last quarter of the year because
of the use of Christmas lights, said Comar. This project aims to give awareness and proper
methods like what should and shouldn't be done in any form of electricity. Our team
encourages everyone to participate in the upcoming meeting so that it can help them
prevent those incidents. It can also give a little knowledge to those students that will try to
become industrial students.
VIII. PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- To make all the participants learn the proper way to prevent electrical hazards and what to
do in case of emergency after the orientation.
