Solution:
Solvent, Solute & Solutions
Solute: Solid or Liquid, Gets dissolved by the solvent.

Solvent: Liquid, which will dissolve another material called

as solute (Either liquid or solid).

Solution (Solute + Solvent): Resulting liquid. Example: Salt

and water, sugar and water, a binder and solvent are also a
solution.

Question:
Q1. A solution is?
a) The resultant liquid of a polymerization event
b) The resultant liquid after dispersing a liquid another liquid
c) The resultant liquid of a solid suspension
d) The resultant liquid after dissolving a material in a solvent

Dispersions
 A paint is a dispersion

 A dispersion can be either;

 A solid dispersed within another liquid (suspension),
where there is no solubility.
 Or liquid dispersed within another liquid (emulsion),
where there is no solubility.

Suspension & Emulsion
A suspension:
A suspension is when fine particulate solids, eg pigment and extenders
are dispersed within a liquid

An emulsion:
An emulsion is a liquid dispersed in another liquid. In vinyl or acrylic
emulsion, very tiny droplets of resin are suspended within water.

Water is a carrier, not a solvent. Water is called the continuous phase

and oil/resin is called the dispersed phase.
