Jodhpur – The Blue City

This was the first time when I along with my friends was travelling to Jodhpur,
the captivating "Blue City" of Rajasthan. We heard many things about this
ancient and heritage city, and finally we are here. Just after leaving the railway
station, we encountered the old locomotive engine that was put on display at the
railway station, after seeing this our heart felt a bit of excitement. Our journey
begins in the heart of the city, wandering through the narrow streets, it l feel like
we have stepped into a Puzzle where we don’t know the exit. The blue-painted
houses truly symbolize Jodhpur’s history and culture. The houses look like the
painting of a photographer. After wandering for a long time we tried the most
famous street food of jodhpur called ‘Mirchi vada’ which was very spicy but
tasty at the same time , I believe such a spicy food was found only in jodhpur .
At evening we started our way to the ‘ Mehrangarh Fort’ the most famous
tourist attraction of Jodhpur . It was located at the hilltop of the jodhpur city .
As we are moving close to the fort, we feel like we were transported back to the
era of Rajput royalty. When we entered the fort we noticed engraving and
paintings on the entrance door there were some peoples who were playing the
traditional instruments of Rajasthan, The melody was making the surrounding
calm and pleasing. There were holes in the walls of fort because of canyon
attacks on the fort. As we moved to the upper part of the fort we saw a small
window, through that window we can see the whole city, it looked like a
miniature masterpiece. The thing which I like most Inside the fort there is the
‘Sheesh Mahal’ (hall of mirrors). Inside the room there were thousands of
mirrors which are glittering like the stars in the sky. This was my first
experience of visiting an fort and I totally dwell into the beauty of Mehrangarh
fort. It was an one time life experience.
