Objective

The objective of this Fyp1 is to get a clear picture to produce our product which is
cube in cube. Therefore, there are several steps that must be taken before running a
cube in cube project such as needing to know the jig design and process plan. Let
me start by saying a few words about my own background. we were tasked with
finding ideas to make our own jigs. The jig should have good dimensions and outline.
Next, we should understand the process plan so that we can see the picture of
running the project well. Each of these plans will be checked by our supervisor, Ms.
Sarah, so that our Fyp1 runs well.

3
Understand the shape.

first of all we should understand the shape of our project so that there is no problem
to make a jig design.

4
Jig design

This is a jig that I have designed in catia, this jig can be used very well and how to
use it is very simple.

How to use the jig should be inserted into the machined part and tightened in the
vice.

6
Process plan cube in cube

1) Make a detailed sketch

2) Create a design through Catia
3) Making a Jig design to be used during the cube in cube making process
4) After the design of the project and the jig is complete, we must make a simulation
of the program using PowerMill.
5) Choose the appropriate tool to use to prepare the cube in cube.
6) Ensure that the program simulation runs smoothly so that nothing unexpected
happens.
7) Submit the entire program to be reviewed by the supervisor

7
Process plan cube in cube ( machining )

1) Tie the cube in cube on the cnc miling vice well.

2) Facing cube in cube

8
3) Change side until all surface is facing

4) Use Endmill for making hole to all surface

9
5) Example of process

6) Rotation of Program

10
7) Repeat the same steps to the other surface

8) Change tool milling to side and face mill (SAFM)

11
9) Rotation of program

10)repeat the same steps to the other surface

12
11) The result that should be obtained

12)For the next process we must enter the jig we have made

13
13)Tie the cube in cube with the jig that has been put together preferably

14)Facing the unfinished part

14
15)Repeat the same steps using the endmill tool and side and face mill (SAFM)

16)After the program is finished, the cube in cube result will be as shown in this
picture.

Conclusion

With the production of FYP1 we can successfully do FYP2 without any problems
because this matter is very important for a mechanic to make early and careful
planning so that no mistakes will be made and produce more perfect work results.
In addition, we can also learn how to handle a product well and can learn a lot of
new knowledge.
Not forgetting the great help from our Supervisor Ms Sarah who helped us a lot in
making this FYP1 a success.
