Project #1: Creating a Timeline of WWII (Partners or Group of 3)

Task: You will be creating a timeline presentation describing events that occurred during World
War II. You will need to give the Who/What/When/Where/Why/How for each event and relate
it to our discussions on nationalism and national interest. The events have been pre-determined
for you.

You may choose to do this by hand or by using an online design platform such as Canva, a
timeline generator, PowerPoint, or video. Ensure that whatever you use can be submitted to
Schoology.

The Events (in no particular order):

1. USA enters the war

2. Invasion of Poland
3. Pearl Harbor
4. D-day
5. Battle of Stalingrad
6. Battle of Britain
7. Hitler invades France
8. Britain and France declare war
9. Raid on Dieppe
10. End of World War II
11. End of World War II in Europe
12. Miracle at Dunkirk
13. Battle of Midway
14. A-bombs dropped on Hiroshima
15. A-bombs dropped on Nagasaki

Remember:

It is imperative that you understand what you are talking about! Therefore, you should not be
cutting and pasting or using words that you do not understand. Paraphrase the information into
understandable text. As always, you must include a bibliography. It is not enough to cite
Google. You must record the specific websites that you took information from.

Also, ensure that your timeline is eye-catching and interesting. Pretend that you are presenting
this timeline to people who have never heard of World War II. DO NOT make your work too
text-heavy. Summarize information where needed. Integrate as many images as you need to
get your point across.

Handing it in: Submit both your timeline presentation and your bibliography to the assignment
on Schoology. You will not be required to present your work to the class.

Due date: The day of your Unit 2 Exam
