SUBJECT: Internal Remote ISM shipboard Audit

Dear Master and Chief Engineer,

The purpose of this circular is due to that experiencing difficulties in conducting internal ISM
Audit, due to the COVID-19. These difficulties include restricted access to ports around the
world for our attendances.

CTM is always in contact with the Administration informing the difficulty encountered regarding
the restrictions to access the ports around the world

The internal ISM Audit will be performed as near as possible in accordance with Part A/12 of
the ISM Code and may include a methodology other than physical on-board audits as of remote
audit as per the ISM internal audit checklist and below procedure.

We have enclosed below additional following checks, documents, and procedures.

PICTURES (All pictures are required to have a time/date):

DECK:
1. Drafts and load lines marks if possible.
2. forecastle areas and bosun store, including dewatering system.
3. deck lighting and their supports.
4. booby hatches with clear evidences of their maintenance status, gaskets and
opening/closing devices.
5. lights at (each) embarkation point, and related safety posters.
6. various stores on deck (SOPEP equipment, Paint Room, OX-AC room, Battery Room,
etc.)
7. CO2 room and its bottles (if fitted)
8. garbage area, their bins and related placards.
9. Accommodation and pilot combination ladders (their conditions, markings, turntable,
stanchions, etc.)
10. Lifeboats, their markings and their launching equipment
11. Liferafts, their markings and their launching equipment (including emergency systems)
12. Rescue boat, its marking and its launching equipment (including emergency systems)
13. Monkey Island, including antennas, VDR battery expire date, lights and magnetic
compass.

Videos
Videos are requested for the below listed items:
1. Test Oily Water Separator and Oil Content Meter
2. Test of main fire pump (please include the pump running and view of the pressure gage)
3. Test of emergency fire pump (please include the pump running and view of the pressure
gage)
4. A video of each generator running (the video should go around all four sides of each
generator once looking at the generator and once looking down into the bilge below the
generator)
5. A video of each emergency generator running (the video should go around all four sides
of the generator once looking at the generator and once looking down into the bilge below the
generator)
6. Fire Dampers (video of each fire damper listed on the fire control plan clearly showing
the satisfactory operation)
7. Engine Room Fire Doors (video of all doors closing)
8. Engine Room Escape Trunk Door Closing
9. General Walk through of all engineering spaces

Engine Room Alarm Testing


Sensors & Alarms to be Tested:
a. Bilge alarm in engine room

Testing Requirements:
a. A video of the alarm or sensor being activated as per the testing

b. A picture of the Engine Control room electronic alarm log showing the alarm test with
date and time of the test to compare to the video of the alarm being activated.
