meal option for busy customers or individuals on the go. The addition of Filipino flavours

to this traditional Japanese dish adds a distinctive twist that enhances its appeal to a wider

consumer base. The infusion of Filipino flavours introduces a unique and exciting taste

profile, creating a fusion that captures the attention of adventurous food enthusiasts. With

this innovative combination, customers can now enjoy the convenience of onigiri while

savoring the vibrant and delectable flavours that Filipino cuisine has to offer. The

incorporation of Filipino flavours into onigiri elevates its appeal, making it a standout

choice for those seeking a convenient yet flavourful culinary experience.

 Flavours with Rich Profile and Background

The incorporation of Filipino flavours adds a new and exciting dimension to traditional

onigiri, elevating it beyond its conventional boundaries. By infusing Filipino flavours into

onigiri, the product becomes an enticing choice for consumers seeking diverse culinary

experiences. The fusion of Japanese onigiri with Filipino flavours creates a harmonious

blend that satisfies adventurous palates and stimulates taste buds. This innovative twist

offers a unique opportunity for consumers to explore the rich and vibrant flavours of both

Japanese and Filipino cuisines in a single, convenient package. With the incorporation of

Filipino flavours, onigiri becomes a gateway to a culinary adventure that appeals to those

who appreciate the art of flavours fusion.

Weaknessess

 Limited Market Familiarity

Onigiri, as a traditional Japanese dish, may not have widespread recognition or

understanding among all consumers. Introducing the concept of onigiri with a Filipino twist

to the market may necessitate additional marketing and promotional efforts. Educating

consumers about the unique attributes and benefits of this fusion product will be essential

in generating awareness and building interest. By highlighting the convenience, portability,

and delightful combination of flavors, marketers can help consumers grasp the appeal and

value of "Pinoy Rice Wraps".

 Lack of Awareness
Onigiri is not well-known among Filipinos. Due to this, there may be a lack of demand

and interest from consumers. The lack of awareness about onigiri as a Filipino dish can

result in limited popularity.

 Perception as an Ethnic Food

Onigiri may be perceived by some consumers as an ethnic or foreign food rather than

an authentic Filipino dish. This perception may hinder its acceptance and popularity among

those seeking traditional local cuisine.

3.) Psychological Pricing (Applicable to all Pinoy Rice Wraps’ products).

The proponents have decided to pursue psychological pricing by pricing all its

products at 59.99 pesos instead of the actual average cost of 59.45 pesos, with a desired

markup of 40%. By setting the price just below a whole number and ending it with .99,

Pinoy Rice Wraps aims to create the illusion of a lower price and increase its appeal to

customers. The slight difference of 0.55 pesos may not seem significant to consumers, but

it can subconsciously trigger the perception that the product is priced at 50 pesos rather

than 60 pesos, making it appear more affordable and enticing.

Furthermore, the 40% desired markup indicates that Pinoy Rice Wraps aims to

achieve a reasonable profit margin while maintaining competitive pricing. By employing

psychological pricing, the proponents can strike a balance between profitability and

customer perception. The strategic decision to round up the price to 59.99 pesos helps

create the impression of affordability while still allowing the brand to cover its costs and

31
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
REGION III
Division of City of San Fernando
PAMPANGA HIGH SCHOOL
PHS Blvd., Brgy. Lourdes, City of San Fernando, Pampanga

achieve the desired markup. Ultimately, this pricing strategy aims to attract more

customers, increase sales volume, and establish Pinoy Rice Wraps as a competitive player

in the market.

4.) Price Lining (Applicable to all Pinoy Rice Wraps’ products).

In addition to psychological—the proponents have decided to pursue price lining

by pricing all four of its different products at 59.99 pesos instead of the actual cost of 59.45

pesos, with a desired markup of 40%. By setting a consistent price of 59.99 pesos across

all four products, Pinoy Rice Wraps simplifies the decision-making process for customers.

This strategy allows customers to easily compare and choose from the available options

based on their preferences without being overwhelmed by a wide range of prices.

Moreover, price lining creates a perception of value and quality. Since all the products are

priced the same, customers may associate the consistent price point with the overall quality

of the brand, making it easier for them to make a purchasing decision.

Additionally, price lining enables Pinoy Rice Wraps to cater to various customer

segments. Some customers may be willing to pay a premium price for a specific product,

while others may prefer a more budget-friendly option. By offering multiple products at

the same price point, Pinoy Rice Wraps appeals to different segments of customers with

varying preferences and budgets. This approach increases the likelihood of capturing a

larger share of the market and maximizing sales revenue.
