The internship is an activity that must be carried out by every student at the Sriwijaya
State Polytechnic. Here, my friend and I did an internship at one of the famous hotels in South
Sumatra, namely Grand Inna Daira Hotel Palembang. At Grand Inna Daira Hotel Palembang we
have a schedule that determines some of our activities during our internship. The activities
carried out vary according to the shifts we get. The schedule is divided into 2 shifts, namely
Morning Shift and Middle Shift.
From the schedule that we work on at the Grand Inna Daira Hotel Palembang. The first is
during the morning shift, we usually go on holidays, namely Saturdays and Sundays starting at
07.00 to 16.00. On the morning shift, we usually have the task of Handling Breakfast, namely
refilling the buffet during breakfast and maintaining the egg stand. After breakfast is finished we
do the closing which is done at 10.00. After that, we cleaned up the food that was closed and
after that we prepared food for lunch, dinner and for breakfast the next day and started the
preparation process such as removing food raw materials from the chiller, cleaning raw
materials, starting the cutting process, and separating them into containers according to the
menu. The second is Middle Shift. Usually we enter Monday to Friday from 12.00 to 20.00. Our
work usually takes a long time to complete the incomplete preparations from the previous shift,
pick up the finished ingredients, process some dishes for breakfast the next day which takes a
long time, to process the ingredients for the ala carte menu until they are semi-finished. Then
after that wash the dishes and tidy up and clean the kitchen.
In conclusion, Grand Inna Daira Hotel Palembang has 2 schedules for intership projects,
namely Morning Shift and Middle Shift. The first for the morning shift is usually on holidays,
namely Saturday and Sunday starting at 07.00 to 16.00. In the morning shift, he has the task of
Handling Breakfast, closing, cleaning up closed food, preparing food for lunch, dinner and for
breakfast the next day. The second is Middle Shift. Usually we enter Monday to Friday from
12.00 to 20.00. Our work usually completes the preparation, picks up the ingredients, prepares
the dishes for breakfast the next day. Then after that wash the dishes and tidy up and clean the
kitchen. So those are some of the activities according to the schedule found at Grand Inna Daira
Hotel Palembang.
