Manager, Advocacy and Partnership

Gillia Garcia
Philippine Legislator’s Committee on Population and Development

Dear Ms. Quilala and Ms. Garcia;

Good day, I am writing to apply as an intern at the PLCPD (Philippine Legislators'

Committee on Population and Development). I am an incoming fourth-year student at the
Polytechnic University of the Philippines. I’m very interested to work in this field and welcome
the opportunity to bring my strong written and verbal communication skills, creativity, and
experience to your office

As an enthusiast of knowledge, I find joy in learning different things despite the challenges
of online learning. While succeeding in university is important, I find that immersing myself in
real-life cases and advocacies is equally significant. During my years as a public administration
student, we were exposed to different conflicts and scenarios which gave me the opportunity to be
more critical, and socially aware as this is your weapon not to be bombarded and subject for public
discourse. Moreover, I was able to use my creativity to further develop myself as a career person
so that I can have the potential to give back to my community by crafting projects and program for
community involvement and growth. In the said role, I researched, drafted a business plan and
possible policy to foster innovation and protection to public welfare. Also, I was part of one of the
most sought events of the Civil Service Commission, the Symposium, where I intern as secretariat
and was given the opportunity to joined research and financial discussion by well-known speakers
from different fields in the Philippines. While I have learned a lot from those versatile exposures,
I envision myself as a citizen serving the public given my heart for service and personal advocacies.
I aim to make the most of my time in university by contributing to an institution that resonates with
my values such as the PLCPD (Philippine Legislators' Committee on Population and
Development).

I am humbly asking for your good office to consider my application for the online
internship program because as an individual that gives his heart to the public, I know that this
agency is the best place for a student like me to learn and advocate, for the effective, efficient, and
equitable administration. This is a good venue and the right opportunity to contribute and use my
skills and expertise productively to create a greater ripple which I have always envisioned.

As an aspiring applicant and future servant in this state, I know that there is a social
responsibility to further serve the people, be the voice of the voiceless, and relentlessly uphold
truth and justice. While spreading awareness, courage, and truth to the public. This opportunity is
significant and will also serve as a good foundation as I prepare to be a public servant that
prioritizes public welfare. I understand that the PLCPD needs people who are not just passionate
but also excellent. These are the two things that I continuously aspire to emulate not just in my
academics but in any of my commitments.

I hope to have the opportunity to work and learn at your esteemed office, as I believe that
my burning passion and desire would help me welcome the opportunity of bringing my
competencies, experiences, and creativity to the agency

With grit,

Paul John D. San Pedro
