Project Title: GAME-BASED LEARNING (MATHLARO, MATHU-TWO TAYO)

I. RATIONALE
Mathematics being abstract and number oriented discipline is inclined on principles, conjectures
and axioms. These made the subject difficult one particularly to those who found math topics tough.
Speed and accuracy is the focal interest wherein teachers taught pupils to perform calculation as fast as
they can to arrive at most appropriate answer with valid solutions.
Lots of innovations has been invented and redesigned to help those who struggles in this area.
Different mathematical concepts were integrated into those games adding flavor to their all-time favorite
pastimes. These innovation created new games with adopted modification so it designed to train, teach
and help pupils learn ideas, concepts, theories and algorithm which in the long run they can apply to real
life problem solving situations.
To name some few, we have the so called DaMath, Math Checkers, Krypto, and Sci-Dama.
These games aim to enriched mathematical and science abilities and skills particularly in the four
fundamental operations.
These teaching-learning strategy Game-based Learning (Mathlaro,Mathu-two Tayo) is simply
designed to aid pupils learn concepts and ideas using game. The adopted games enumerated above
were used.
II. OBJECTIVES
1. introduce the adopted games like Damath, Math Checker and Krypto to pupils.
2. Provide pupils a conducive friendly competition to play as well as learn math concepts.
3. Increase pupils’ performance in mathematics.
4. Develop pupils’ love and appreciation for board games
5. Delivers positive physical learning activities to learn calculation with their peers/friends.
III. PROGRAM DESIGN
a. teacher will incorporate games in every topic as possible to be taught in mathematics.
b. pupils will be asked to prepare their board games or necessary materials to limit wasting of
time.
c. pupils will be oriented on the games and the objective of playing the games.
d. every pupil is welcome to play the game necessary and relative to the topics.

IV. BUDGET
There are no particular expenses for the said teaching learning techniques, hence the materials
can be made by the pupils themselves.
V. ACTIVITIES
Every pupil is welcome to play indoor. It can be before or after the lesson. Trained or performing
pupils can teach those who are not yet familiar with the game rules.
VI. OUTPUT
1. pupils’ made game boards
2. increase mathematical performance
3. friendly competition
4. positive interest towards mathematical task
5. speedy and accurate calculation
VII. MONITORING AND EVALUATION
Teacher can monitor their performance every after formative assessment.
