Note: You can replace は、を and が with か when
using it as indefinite pronoun. For the rest of the
praticles, you shouldn’t remove them resulting to double
particles.
も Indefinite pronoun
くるまに のります。
へやに はいっては いけません。
Apo 山に のぼりたい です。
I ride a car.
*deadline, limit marker You must not enter my room.
Marks the time set as a limit or deadline to do something I want to climb Mt. Apo.
TIME までに Verb
かばんに ペンや ノート(など)が あります。 There’s a pen, notebook and etc. in the bag.
きのう ラーメンや ぎゅうどんを たべました。 Yesterday, I ate ramen, gyuudon and so on.
か *reason marker
Marks the reason why you such thing will happen or did
ら happened.
が *attribute marker
Marks the attribute of something, someone.
ドアを あけます。
ドアが あきます。 I open the door.
ドアを しめます。 The door is open.
ドアが しまります。 I close the door.
The door is closed.
*marks the object in these following verbs/pattern
ほんが あります。
こどもが います。 I have a book.
えいごが わかります。
アイスクリームが すき です。 I have a child.
わさびが きらい です。 I understand English.
バスケットボールが じょうず でうす。テニスが I like ice cream.
へた です。 I hate wasabi.

GRAMMAR POINTS
N が あります・います There’s a NOUN.
N が すき・きらい です I like/hate NOUN.

N1 と N2 と どちらが adjective ですか。 Which is more ADJECTIVE? Noun1 or Noun2?
= N1・N2 の ほうが adjective です。 = N1 or N2 is more adjective.
けいたいと パソコンと どちらが べんり ですか。 Which one is more convenient? Phone or computer?
=けいたいの ほうが べんり です。 = Phone is more convenient.
=どちらも べんり です。
=どちらも べんり じゃありません。 = both are convenient.
= both are not convenient.
Nが ほしい です。 I want NOUN.
Nが ほしくない です。 I don’t want NOUN.
Note: cannot be used for third person or describing
someone’s desire.

= Yes, it’s okay.
= Yes, it’s totally okay.

V 1 てから、V2 ます。 After doing something, I do something.
V1 てから、V1 ました。 After doing something I did something.
Used when upon completion of the V1 action, the V2
action is to be conducted.
Davao は ゆうめいで にぎやかな ところ です。 Davao is famous and a lively place.
かのじょは しんせつで きれい です。 My girlfriend is kind and pretty.
N1 は N2 が adjective です。 About N1, N2 is adjective.
Used to describe an attribute of a thing, person or
place; where:
N1 = topic, N2 = subject of the adjective’s description.
Davao は ひとが やさしい です。 In Davao, people are nice. = Davao people are nice.
おとうとは めが おおきい です。 My younger brother’s eye is big.
いもうとは かみが ながい です。 My younger sister’s hair is long.
わたしは あたまが いい です。
あには せが たかい です。 I am smart. = lit. As for me, my head is good. (idiom)
My brother is tall. = As for my brother, his back is tall.
