1.0 INTRODUCTION

DESCRIPTIONS AND BACKGROUND

An electrical switch is any device used to interrupt the flow of electrons in a circuit. Switches are
essentially binary devices: they are either completely on ("closed") or completely off ("open").

Switch design differences depend on their configuration. The switch configuration is referred to
the number of Pole and Throws.

The "poles" of a switch refer to the number of moving contacts, while the "throws" of a switch
refer to the number of stationary contacts per moving contact.

Exercise 4

Design a circuit using two LEDs and a motor. Find a voltage needed to control the motor RPM at 10115,
clockwise rotation. When the motor runs using a switch the GREEN LED will turn ON and when the motor
is OFF the RED LED will turn On. Find the related switch to solve this problem and simulate it in a given
software to prove your design.

Discussion

I've learned how to utilise the lab simulator software, distinguish between switch configurations, and get
accustomed to the fundamental circuit components and how to link them to create actual electrical
circuits. Understand the relationship and variations between theory and practise in order to validate the
laws and principles of electrical circuits. to acquire practical knowledge of electrical circuits. The
experiment improved my comprehension and practical perspective of switching schematic circuits.

Conclusion

We learned about Differentiate Switch Configuration in this lab. The next step is to apply the switch for the
correct application. Using the system specifications as a guide, draw the switch logic circuit and schematic
diagram. It's important to observe that each component is added to the circuit correctly, and the values are
placed where they go. I initially struggled with simulation, but afterwards it went smoothly.
