Job Competencies

Through the course of this internship in human services, I have experienced a lot and was exposed to

a lot. From the beginning, I remember my supervisor stating how there is a lot of work to be done

and he had past interns that wouldn’t see that. From that moment I decided I would work diligently to

stay busy and be productive. I showed that by doing what I was asked or invited to do, and when I

didn’t have any appointments on a given day I would reach out to my supervisor and coworkers to

see if I could help them in any way or observe any of their appointments because I wanted to

continuously learn.

Professionalism

With our field of employment, confidentiality and dependability is critical to do your job well. I feel

like I maintained trust with our clients as well as my work team by being flexible and willing to step

up wherever I was needed. My supervisor would also acknowledge my punctuality and attention to

detail as I stayed off my phone during hours and engaged with clients.

Interpersonal Relations

My work team has a very good and healthy environment. That made it easy to learn and adapt to

their working environment. I felt like I was friendly and available to my coworkers which enabled us

to cooperate on cases we were assigned. We work well together, and I am grateful that I was

comfortable enough to communicate verbally and virtually with my coworkers which enabled us to

stay connected and succeed.

Personal Attributes

As described above, I stayed motivated and enthusiastic about the work which my supervisor

appreciated. I was also pushed to be creative in forming the Fighting Chance Prevention intervention

plans and activities. I was always willing to learn and stay interested in the work which motivated me

to participate actively and be persistent during challenging situations.
