Dean, College of Agriculture and Technology

Northwest Samar State University

Dear Madame:

Greetings!

We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to formally request your permission to
conduct interviews with the vegetable farmers of Satio Serib, Brgy. Mawacat as part of our Agricultural Extension
and Communication subject output. The purpose of these interviews is to gather valuable insights, firsthand
experiences, and knowledge from these farmers, which will greatly contribute to our understanding of agricultural
practices and their communication strategies.

Our group, consisting of10 members, is currently enrolled in the Agricultural Extension and Communication course
under the guidance of our esteemed instructor, Mr. Mark Vincent G. Latras. As part of our coursework, we are
required to engage with local farmers to gain practical knowledge and document their perspectives on agricultural
practices, challenges, and innovations. We believe that conducting interviews with the vegetable farmers of Satio
Serib, Brgy. Mawacat will provide us with a unique opportunity to explore the diverse farming techniques and
communication methods employed in the area.

To ensure the smooth execution of this project, we have outlined the following details:

1. Duration: We anticipate that the interviews will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023. This agreed time
together with the interviewees will allow us sufficient time to conduct comprehensive interviews and
engage in meaningful conversations with the farmers.

2. Methodology: We plan to conduct face-to-face interviews with the farmers, adhering to all necessary health
and safety protocols. We will prepare a set of structured questions in advance to guide the discussion and
ensure the collection of relevant information.

3. Confidentiality: We assure you that all information obtained during the interviews will be treated with
utmost confidentiality. Any data shared with us will be used solely for academic purposes and will be
presented in an aggregated and anonymous manner.

4. Ethical Considerations: We are committed to obtaining informed consent from the farmers before
conducting interviews. Additionally, we will respect their time constraints and availability, ensuring that
the interviews do not disrupt their daily farming activities.

We kindly request your permission to proceed with this endeavor, as it will significantly enhance our learning
experience and contribute to the practical application of our academic knowledge. We are confident that the insights
gained from these interviews will benefit not only our academic pursuits but also the local agricultural community.

We truthfully assure the department of CAT and the university as a whole that we will carry our name as a student
of Northwest Samar State University and we will only conduct the above mentioned activity with caution. We
promise that other than interviewing the farmers, we will not do anything that will ruin the reputation of our college
and university.
