3. (a) What is your understanding of the term “business cycle”? [5]

(b) Discuss any five (5) reasons why managers are concerned with
tracking the business cycle trends. [20]

4. (a) Critically discuss three (3) functions of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe
(RBZ) in the Zimbabwean economy. [12]

(b) Identify and discuss four (4) roles of commercial banks in economic
development. [13]

5. Discuss using appropriate examples, the case for and against privatisation
with reference to the Zimbabwean economy or any other economy with which
you may be familiar. [25]
