Group discussion project :

We had a meaningful and well-structured conversation in our group on the

effects of social media on this generation. We established clear standards and
procedures before the discussion, outlining each member's role and setting
deadlines for preparation. Participants in the thorough research project read
relevant articles and collected information, examples, and anecdotes. This
preparation, in my opinion, was essential for developing a solid viewpoint.

I made my argument during the conversation and provided proof to back up

each major point. But I came to understand that my presentation style was
influenced by my personal viewpoint. I mentioned a few downsides of social
media while emphasising its advantages, but I noticed that I spoke more
strongly about the latter. The discussion's overall balance might have been
impacted by this bias.

I answered questions posed by the moderator and other participants while

listening to others as a participant. The group stuck to the guidelines,
speaking in a formal manner and rotating so that everyone had a chance to
share their opinions. It was clear that every participant had done their
research, supporting their opinions with facts and arguments.

I listened to other participants' diverse arguments and supporting information,

which helped to make for an excellent discussion. Nonetheless, there were
times when certain arguments were unsupported by facts or contained false
information. We as a group made an effort to address these situations by
promoting fact-based discussion.

Diverse viewpoints were expressed, especially regarding the subject of social

media's impact on the current generation. While some participants
emphasized the benefits of connectivity and information sharing, others voiced
concern about the mental health of individuals who use social media
excessively. These differences gave the conversation extra depth.

Since the participants' first language was not English, the vocabulary used in
communication was not the most grammatically correct, regardless they made
their best efforts to make the discussion as formal and appropriate as
possible. The level of participation was raised by emphasizing points with
gestures and facial expressions. To establish a connection with the
participants, non-verbal clues such as tone of voice and eye contact were
used.

The group demonstrated problem-solving abilities by addressing different

points of view and seeking for a common understanding. All things
considered, the conversation did a good job of exploring the different aspects
of how social media is affecting our generation, giving a voice to different
points of view and encouraging critical thinking.
