POETRY INTERPRETATION

2. Release motional baggage and mental stress by expressing oneself through

poetry interpretation.
3. encourage students to obtain a wide knowledge and appreciation of poets

and their poetry, and to increase their ability to share with others the full
meaning intended by the author by interpreting from the manuscript.
B. Introduction :
Poetry is written to be read aloud; therefore, poetry interpretation is regarded

as recreating the thoughts and emotions of the poet in the minds of the audience.
The final test of good poetry interpretation is the ability of the interpreter to cause the
audience to forget that they are listening to a poetry but instead relive by the context of
the poem being interpreted.

C. Instructions:
1. You are going to interpret the poem of Sarah Gray entitled “The Teenage Years”
orally.
2. Record your poem interpretation, and upload it as a Performance Output.
3. Mastery of the piece and delivery matters, you may use prompters to guide you
in your poem interpretation.
4. Costumes and props are encouraged to enhance the performance.
5. Presentation time must not be lower than 2 minutes and must not exceed to 5
minutes.
