SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 10


I. Objectives
A. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners shall be able to:
1. Recognize the five sensory imageries that can be used in Literature,
2. Identify sensory images present in the poem entitled ‘The Voice of Spring’, and
3. Express appreciation for sensory images through using them in writing their own
poem composition
B. Learning Competencies
Express appreciation for Sensory Images used (EN10LT-IIIa-2.2.1)

C. Instructional Materials: Visual Aids, Printed Pictures, and Markers

III. Procedure
A. Presentation

Recalling the Previous Lesson
B. Motivation
The Teacher will paste the printed pictures in the board and let the students analyze
them for 1 minute. The teacher will ask the students to get one printed picture and
think of any word or Phrases that best describe the image. For Instance, a picture of a
sunset. They will be encouraged to describe it by its color or by its shape.
C. Lesson Proper
The Teacher will discuss the Five Sensory Images (Visual Imagery, Gustatory Imagery,
Tactile Imagery, Auditory Imagery, and Olfactory Imagery)
D. Generalization
The Learners will be grouped into 5. They will have a copy of the Poem ‘The Voice of
Spring’ that was written by Mary Howitt and they will be task to identify the sensory
images used in the selection and recognize what type of Imagery it is. Afterwards, each
group will present in the class, answering the question: “How important sensory images
are in writing a literature?”

IV. Evaluation
The students will be tasked to write a short poem using Sensory Images. Any concept will be
encouraged.

V. Assignment
Supposed you have a friend that is visually impaired and he asked you to describe to him the
Sunset. How would you describe it to him? Write them in the form of a Free Verse Poem.
