1 Skimming is Read quickly some of the reading material without losing the
meaning of what is contained in the reading to get an overview of the contents of
the reading that will be read.
How to do skimming :
1) Read the title and subtitles of the text
2) read the first and last paragraphs contained in the text quickly
3) For text that only consists of one paragraph, focus on the first and last
sentences
4) For text consisting of several paragraphs, read the first and last sentences of
each paragraph.

Topic is generalization of a text or word that represents/includes all other

words in its group.

Topic is a word that describes and covers all parts or information in the text

without being too broad and consequently includes things that are outside the text

and not too narrow.
