Materials:
 dice
 copies of game board
 playing pieces (I have students use an eraser, a penny, etc.)
 verb list (if needed)

Directions:
1. Divide students into groups. Give each group a copy of the game board, one die,
and a verb list (if needed).

2. Students should place their pieces on the ¡A empezar! square to begin. Roll the
ie to see who goes first. The first player will roll the die and move their piece.

3. Once they have landed on a square, students should correctly conjugate the verb
they have landed on. The number on the die indicates the subject they should
use. For instance, if a student rolls a “5”, they move five squares and conjugate
the verb into the vosotros form. The student must then verbally give a sentence
using the conjugated verb.

4. If the group members agree that the conjugation and sentence are correct, the
student remains on the square. If the group members decide the player is
incorrect, they must explain why and the player must return to the previous
square.

5. The winner is the player who reaches the end of the game board first.

Alternatives for play:

1. Play with a different tense – preterite, imperfect, etc.

2. Play for meaning – have students give the meaning of the verb when they land
on the square.

3. For kinesthetic learners, act out the meaning of the word when you land on it.
