METHOD STATEMENT FOR INSTALLATION OF HT CABLING.

1.0 OBJECTIVE

To define the methods and controls employed to ensure that the overall work of the systematic
manner that in all respects shall conform to the specified requirements.

4.0 HANDLING AND STORAGE

4.1 Materials at site shall be stored at designated area and shall be properly protected from rain or water
seepage.

4.2 Materials shall be stored without direct contact with the ground and shall be placed on timbers, bricks
or pallets to prevent materials from contact to water on the ground, should there be any.

5.0 WORK METHODOLOGY


5.1 All cabling will be installed as shown on the approved shop drawings, using the correct type and size
of cables as approved by Engineer.

5.2 Cables will be supplied on drums which will be unloaded using cranes or boom truck adjacent to the
Point of installation. Drums will be set on stands to allow them to rotate, and roller guides will be
used along the line of the cable. The cables will then be pulled and laid appropriately, whether in
trench or duct. Whilst unwinding and laying the cables, the drum should be positioned so that the
drum will roll in the direction indicated by the arrow on the side of the drum. Cables will be clearly
labeled and identified.

5.3 After the cables have been laid on the trench, the cables will covered in sand with protective cable
marker slabs above. The backfilling will be left slightly higher than the finished adjacent ground
level to allow for settlement.

6.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING

6.1 Carry out inspection and testing as detailed in Inspection & Testing Checklist Report of HT
Cabling Installation.

6.2 Pressure test shall be carry out on the 11KV cables by Licensed Testing Engineer and test report shall
be submiited to the Consulting Engineer for approval.
