Festival has been celebrated since 1958, its main purpose being to promote the wine culture, concentrated in the southern region of Peru. From March 24-25, people enjoy the Festival of Vendimia.
For two days, and as part of the celebrations, there will be
concerts, fireworks, dance contests, food and drink fairs, craft fairs, and extreme sports, such as sandboarding.
Of course, the most important event is the “Reina de la
Vendimia” beauty pageant, where they choose the “Vendimia Queen”. Once crowned, as part of the tradition, the queen will tread grapes to extract juice, which will later be fermented.
The city of Paracas will turn into a party town, and the best part is that the entrance is free! This is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.
