CHAPTER I

Introduction

1.1 Background of the study

Our wedding reservation system is perfect for engaged couple who are

planning a wedding. You no longer need to worry about choosing wedding venue or a

wedding photographer to capture your priceless moment because the system will take

care of it for you. You only need to fill up the reservation form in the Wedding

reservation system. Every field on the reservation form is automatically validate

before being submitted. This is done to ensure that all of the submitted data is

accurate. The administration is responsible for overseeing all of features and

functionalities of wedding reservation system. Also, he gets access to all reservation

that the customer has request and can accept or remove them.

Currently, the event assiduity plays a vital part in our society. People have

come up with a lot of occasions for organizing events similar as educational events,

birthdays, transnational conferences, company parties etc. Generally speaking, events

are also a part of mortal beings' social life because they get to know and talk with

different people with different backgrounds. Still, in order to organize a good and

successful event, it requires a thorough and detailed planning process. Event directors

and event fellow need to unite in order to formulate the most feasible plan for events.

In order to make events successful and well organized, all of the stages in the entire

planning process also need to be in harmony and be identified with one another.

Typically for an event operation company, services have been established in those

sections each having finance director, event diary, mortal resource


Four Kids Function Hall Reservation Site is a website where a customers can

reserve their program. Four Kids was established on November 26, 2017, and it is

located at Crossing Simuay, Sultan Kudarat Maguindanao. The Four Kid’s Function

Hall apps used to reserve event is only facebook and that’s where the picture are

posted. We have three event that will serve which is Salanggunin, Kalilang and

Aquiqa can only handle 150 person in one events. Mostly the problem of Four Kids

Function Hall is the Electricity.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

The Four Kids cannot accommodate all the customers due to the maximum of

one hundred fifty inside the venue.

 Can this system help the owner in managing their restaurant?

 Can this system help the customers to have a reservation?

 Can this system able to identify the person who reserve the venue?

1.3 Objectives of the Study

This study aimed to help every customer who wants to reserve. As well as to

manage flow of reserving.

Specifically; it seeks to achieve the following

 To develop a system that will help the owner to manage their restaurant.

 To develop a system that help the customers to event’s reservation.

 To develop a system that can identify every customer who reserve the event.
1.4 Significant of the study

This part of study will show you the individual or organization. This study will

be beneficial to the following:

Management – This system can help the Four Kid’s Function Hall Staff to

accommodate the online reservation from the distant client.

Client – This system is intended for the clients who wants to reserve an occasion or

events in Four Kid’s Function Hall Reservation to make sure that their target date is

being secured.

Future researcher – The time allotted for the development of the system is limited,

that’s why it will be an opportunity for the next batch of researchers to review the

project and apply the necessary changes and updates.

1.5 Scope and Limitation

This system explains how users can log in to the website by providing

personal information. The only people who can access this system are those who fill

up their form. However, private information about the clients, such as their bank

accounts or anything else involving money, is not disclosed. This investigation was

restricted to reservations. Food delivery is not permitted.


Scope

The Four Kid’s Function Hall Reservation has a specific time allocation to

every customer who reserved event’s before the client reserve they need to register

and fill up the form. The information of client save automatically on system and the

all information of the Four Kid’s Function Hall shows to the clients.

Limitation

This study is limited only to the Four Kids Function Hall at Crossing Simuay,

Sultan Kudarat Maguindanao. Also limited event’s like Salangguni, Aquiqa and

Wedding/Nikkah

Operational Definition of Terms

Reservation – an arrangement guest make in advance to confirm a date for their


event and specified time.
System – the software and hardware that restaurant operators use to run their
business.
Function Hall -In the context of the "Four Kids Function Hall Reservation System,"
a "function hall" refers to a physical location within a facility, such as a banquet hall
or event space, which is available for individuals or groups to reserve for hosting
events, meetings, or gatherings. This space is equipped with necessary amenities and
can accommodate a specific number of guests.
Reservation System - The "reservation system" in the context of the "Four Kids
Function Hall Reservation System" is a digital platform or software application
developed to streamline the process of booking and managing reservations for the
function hall. It allows users to select their desired date, time, and additional services,
facilitating the efficient allocation of the function hall's resources.
Four Kids: "Four Kids -serves as the specific name or branding associated with both
the function hall and its reservation system. It represents the unique identity and
ownership of the facility, making it easily recognizable to users seeking to reserve the
space for their events or gatherings.
CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE (RRL)

This chapter demonstrates how to gain a general understanding of the subject's

current state in order to support the topic of our research, the Four Kids Function Hall

Reservation System. We also need ideas from many authors who have written on the subject

in order to make it more credible and true; thus, we used some of their writings to support

our study.

2.1 Local Literature

According to Fernandez, V. R. (2020) a hotel and restaurant management system is

software that helps carry out the tasks that should be done in the hospitality industry.

Booking Reservation System manages all the guests who want to book or reserve a hotel

or a restaurant. Booking Reservation has sub modules, such as guest monitoring, general

reports, booking reservation, facilities, and events. Guest monitoring is the process where

you can monitor all the guests who booked or reserved in a hotel and restaurant; it can

also approve or cancel a particular guest. A general report is where you can report all the

transactions that happened in booking a reservation. Booking reservation is the process

where you can book or reserve for a certain guest who wants to book or reserve a room,

facilities, or events. The facilities sub module is where you can see all the available

facilities in the hotel and restaurant management system. In the events sub module, one

can see all the available events in the hotel and restaurant management system. The agile

approach was used to build a proposed system. The developer team initialized

requirement analysis to gather data and conducted a formal consultation that helped in

building the idea for the proposed system. Document Design and Prototype designed the

phase into a plan as the solution for the problems specified by the requirements of the
proposed system. Iterations, demo, and feedback in this phase are the specific needs and

wants of the company. Identify defects and resolved bugs in this phase are needed to

determine if the function reached the requirement. The production and technical support

of the proposed system indicate that it must completely function. The development team

has created a system where the hotel and restaurant management system, booking

reservation system, and the guest will benefit. For the booking reservation system, the

system is created by the developers to speed things up in terms of booking and

reservation and to determine who the people who booked/reserved are. For the guest,

the developer team carefully studied how the developer team can meet the guest’s

needs. As a result, the developer team successfully provided what the user needed to do

his/her daily work activities. The developer team created a well-designed system to

provide the needs and perform the daily work of the user. The CRM should manage the

needs of the guest, and the developer provides those needs. However, this project study

is still working in progress and has many aspects that can be improved. Future

researchers can use this project study as a basis for the study. Researchers can also

upgrade the system in the future

A study published on 2021 Authored by Maria Santos, Online Reservation Systems for

Event Venues in the Philippines, this paper published in the Philippine Journal of Event Management,

discusses the rise of online reservation systems for event venues in the Philippines. It explores the

challenges and opportunities specific to the local context.

This study, Challenges and Success Factors in Developing Online Reservation Systems for

Local Event Venues (2020) conducted by Juan dela Cruz and presented at the National Conference on

Information Systems, focuses on the challenges faced by local event venues when developing online

reservation systems. It also identifies success factors essential for the adoption of such systems.

2.2 Foreign Literature


Online hotel reservation is one incarnation of the latest digitalization in self-service

technology in hotel and travel industry which aims to increase efficiency and in turn quality

of service (Schaarschmidt & Höber, 2019). In online reservation services by third party or

travel agents, customer is offered with assortment of information such as locations, prices,

and alternatives in making decision for their travel. With the advent of internet and mobile

technology advancement, as well as its user penetration and familiarity, online reservation

services have grown in the past few years, and with it the increased competition among its

provider. Drawing from the nature of electronic commerce, several factors that leads to

perceived quality, customer satisfaction and loyalty such as customer service, design, and

order management (Cristobal, Flavian, & Guinalıu, 2019) has been explored by existing

online reservation service provider. The appeal of these services ultimately lies in

convenience of a one-stop self-service solution for their travel, where customers could look

for their accommodation needs and finalize the payment within the same site or application.

According to Ghangare and Adhikary's (2019) research on online booking

venue system, the benefit of implementing this is that customerswill not have

to travel anywhere and will be able to obtain all event information with a

single click. Before viewing the list of events added bythe Dealer and booking

by checking availability, the customer must register and login. The customer

must then wait for a response, and if theyc o n f i r m , t h e y a r e p e r m i t t e d t o

a t t e n d t h e e v e n t . T h e o n l i n e v e n u e reservation system was introduced by

LinhDuc et.al (2016) which discussedan automated booking system in which they

proposed the use of PIR sensors to detect the presence of people and infer their

presence. The availability of venues is primarily determined by pre-determined

schedules in most venue scheduling or management systems. However, because

booking durations are not always exactly as scheduled, a venue may be

underutilized in some cases. As a result, in their paper, they present a smart venue
booking scheduling and management system that detects booking system status

in real time and integrates this information into the scheduling application to

support ad-hoc booking and increase venue utilization. Their project aims to

create any stem that makes it easier for users to book an event without having

to search for it. They used an example of online hotel booking in their

proposed application. The user must be registered and logged in in order to log

in. The user will search for venues by providing the location if the venues are

present in that location. Their application will provide services to online

customers, administrators, and agents. It enables customer to reserve and rate

rooms online. The administrator can update or update the hotel room and generate

monthly occupancy. Their online venue booking system aims to make manual

reservations faster and more accurate

CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY
This chapter outlines all the methods used to conduct this study, including the

research approach, study location, study participants, and system development

technique. It also comprises analysis of the requirements gathered, system design,

implementation, testing, system deployment, and maintenance.

Research Approach

In line of developing and creating a website that will benefit to the specific

target respondent, before we gather information about the specific target respondent

we plan first who is the target respondent and after that we settled the target

respondent, we give them a Research letter to get there permission to conduct an

observation to make an interview and to ask about their establishment.

Local of the study

This research intended only for Four Kids Function hall located Crossing

Simuay, Sultan Kudarat Maguindanao Del N

Respondent of the study

The respondents of this study is the staff of Four Kids Function hall at

Crossing Simuay, Sultan Kudarat Maguindanao Del Norte.

Requirements Gathering and Analysis

First after approving the propose title Four Kids function hall we had a

meeting with our group to discuss the plan on how to gather the date with the target
respondent, after that the target respondent will allow us to conduct a survey and

interview, lastly we got an information about their establishment we analyze their

answer and after we analyze their answer we create a system design.

System Design

Creating our system. First thing that we do is design the system so that it is

suitable for the want of user or some individuals that use it, system just like the colors,

fonts, etc.

Implementation

After creating our system design, we put all the data that we collect based on

the study together and planned how it would work. So in this paragraph, we have

coded each part to make it function until it works.

Testing

The program’s supporters repeatedly put it to the test. This makes that the

system satisfies the requirements and that any flaws or programming problems are

found and fixed during the test run.

Deployment

In this step, the proponents will make the produced system available to end

users so that they may assess whether the necessary requirements have been met.

Additionally, it will guarantee that the system is prepared for use.

Maintenance
Even though this is the waterfall Model’s last phase, the process doesn’t end

here. The system will be maintained by the proponents so that it may be checked

frequently. As a result of the client’s input, this will need to be updated and improved.

This is done to prevent any potential issues and to determine whether any

modifications are needed to fulfill the needs of the users.

CHAPTER IV

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION OF THE SYSTEM


Description of the Existing System
Four Kids Function Hall Reservation System likely has an online portal where
customer can browse dates, view hall layout and make reservation events such as
Wedding, Aquiqa or other gatherings.

Methods, Procedure and Operation

1. The client must go to the Four Kids Function Hall to inquire about the venue.
2. The four kids in Function Hall currently use the manual reservation, which is to note
down the information about the client's event.

Resource Management
The researcher found out that the existing manual operation is what they use at

the Four Kid’s Function Hall Reservation.
