Rules & Regulation

System of Play: FIDE Swiss System with Rapid Regulations will be followed
Time Control: 20 Minutes + 10 Seconds increment from move 1
Rounds: 9
Eligibility: The tournament is open for all players.
Tie-Break: Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn Berger, Direct encounter, number of wins (including forfeit points)
Appeals Committee: An Appeals Committee will be formed during the technical meeting.
Protests: Protests, if any against the decision of the arbiter shall be made in -writing with a protest fee Rs.500.1- (Rs. Five Hundred
only) within 10 minutes of the incident. The protest fee is refundable only if the protest is upheld. The decision of the appeals
committee on all protests shall be final and binding.
Interpretation: For interpretation of the rules and deciding any point not covered by the rules, the decision of the tournament
committee shall be final and binding.
Withdrawals: A player may withdraw at any stage of the event, after informing the Chief Arbiter in writing
One player will be given one(higher) prize only
The tournament will be conducted as per the latest FIDE Laws of Chess
Players are not allowed to use any type of wrist watch, mobile, or any such electronic device in the playing area.
For the category prize, the organizer may ask the players for their date of birth proof, and by registering for the tournament players
are abide to present the Date of Birth Proof for the given tournament
Organizer has the right to accept or reject any entry without assigning any reason.
Organizing committee are not responsible for any discomfort or any other problems like transportation etc for those are staying at
hotel. Participants need to reach to the tournament venue at due course of time as mentioned above in this brochure.

R.K. MISHRA MEMORIAL
CHESS TOURNAMENT
Chess player Late Mr. Ram Kumar Mishra majorly known as Mr. R.K. Mishra was born
on 01-07-1965 in a small village Bateshwar near Agra City in Uttar Pradesh. He
started his chess career at a late age of 28 years, when he with his family started
living in Gwalior city. He secured his job as postal assistant with his skills in chess.

With limited resourses present at that time Mr. R.K. Mishra secured a highest rating
of 2292 in July 2003. He had played many games of chess with brilliant minds of
INDIA, USA, AUSTRALIA, NEPAL etc. Due to heredity he caught diabetes and it
started to take a toll on him as well as on his games.

He left us all on 18-11-2017 with unfinished dreams to encourage chess in Gwalior

city and its youngsters heart and mind. But this dream is taken care by his son Er.
Mayank Mishra who is director of Brainshaala International Education Pvt. Ltd.
which works on Brain, Skills and Personality Development Programs all around the
world with its unique franchise models.

Dear Participants,
It gives me an immense pleasure to welcome you to the ALL
INDIA OPEN 3rd R.K. MISHRA Chess Tournament. The
tournament is one of its kind and in the memory of the
greatest player we got from MP and Gwalior who too is my
role model. I hope that it will enable the chess participants
to get a taste of the competitions of international stature in
Chess. Holding the R.K. MISHRA CUP is a distinguish
achievement for any chess player. The sport teaches us to
MAYANK MISHRA seize the day. It teaches us to think out of the box and tackle
Director Brainshaala real life problems with a practical and unwavering mindset.
With this thought in mind the first is being organised to build
the qualities of resilience and 'never give up' attitude in our
students. I truly and wholeheartedly wish for the success of
this tournament in doing so.
